Their training styles were so much different this is impossible to say. Jay has always trained “lighter” and reps. Ronnie was typically heavy. @@Van1018s Jay Cutler is an Mr Olympia level bodybuilder, yet the amount of steroids and other substances you have to abuse to be even a decent bodybuilder is high, Jay has been on steroids for at least three decades. His high drug usage combined with how long he has been using is absolutely not healthy, not to mention he has maintained a very large body size which has no doubt put lots of pressure on his cardiovascular system. The bodybuilding lifestyle (high drug usage, eating very large amounts of food, maintains a high body size) is simply not healthy, steroids are not safe, some of these substances aren’t even approved for human usage, much less at the dosages bodybuilders are using them. Accelerated ageing and organ damage are very common among long time steroid users such as Jay. Maybe Jay is healthier when compared to other bodybuilders but it is incorrect to say that a lifetime of steroid usage and bodybuilding is healthy. Even is he has dropped down in size, that still does not erase thirty years of steroid usage (not to mention he is definitely still on steroids).

The training styles are very different. Jay Cutler has gone on to say that he has never trained to failure. He pretty much chases after the pump, not trying to test what weight he can do, and generally aims for the 8-12 rep range. Meanwhile, Ronnie is pretty much a powerlifter. He is far more willing to push the boundaries of his strength and to train to failure. I don't think Jay could be stronger, but the gap is likely closer than it seems based off of these comparisons.

Ronnie is simply at a whole nother level, though you could still make the arguement on the form he used for some lifts. That ridiculously heavy weight that Ronnie Coleman was pushing completely destroyed his skeleton. Just because you can chemically amp up the strength of the muscles way beyond what is natural it doesn't mean the joints can withstand the sheer forces they are subjected to by continuously lifting tremendous weight the body was not designed to do. Ronnie Coleman ignored that natural fact and is now paying a very high price. When you calculate the pounds per square inch placed on the ligaments, tendons and cartilage of the small joints of the knees, elbows, shoulders and spine its a miracle that he lasted as long as he did. I can only imagine the constant excruciating pain he suffered in the latter years of his bodybuilding career. Greg Kovacs was always considered the strongest bodybuilder in modern times.

Pretty sure cutler is 5ft 8 not 5 ft 10. Some of Jay's videos are taken from his dvd new improved and beyond where he states because of his training cycle and dieting he's not lifting his heaviest weights so this isn't a completely fair comparison.

I found a video where jay did 12 reps with 405 on incline bench so these were not his max reps he could have done way more but he played it safe with better rom

That wasn't 405, it was 330lbs......Everyone sees 4 wheels and assumes they are 45s, they were not

How strong was Markus Ruehl with coleman?
@peternagy-gyor5062 жыл бұрын
Ronnie is undoubtedly stronger since he was heavier, he did powerlifting before, also with those heavy weights he oushed the limits too far. Meanwhile Jay was more concentrated, detailed and his muscles were also cleaner in visual, like his quads.

James hollingshead is freaky strong not sure if you’ve done a video on him but might be cool to compare him to like an ian vallier or nick walker pretty sure only Ian comes close tho James is nuts

Jay got him on the hack squat though, knee wraps easily add some sustantial weight. IE, ik i’m weak, but i can high bar narrow feet 435 for 3 with wraps and a belt, without any of that i can only squat 385. Idk how how much will it imoact on the hack squat but considering that they did the same weight and the difference was 3 reps then we got to give it to J. Nonetheless he still got smoked😂

Jay never goes failure and he uses machines. That's why, he still look big and much less unhealthy than his generation bodybuilder. In a nutshell, he doesn't care about weights.

Jay spent a third of his career trying to beat a out of prime old Ronnie. He deserves massive respect but he has the personality of a box compared to Ronnie. Not to mention when people talk about him it’s almost always in the context of beating Ronnie showing you how much influence Ronnie actually had.

@@fireman684 Absolutely true! All I’m saying is that Ronnie had a much bigger influence on bodybuilding compared to Jay.
