Great video and thanks for the links. I currently have Dyna-batt manufacturers ID 5575B. It's a 12V, dry cell battery, 16amps hrs, and it is 4 years old. The CCA on it is around 280 and I live in NE and on days where its under 50 degrees, the car struggles to start. I want to maintain the weight savings and I like the idea of a supercapacitor, in parallel. What kind and how many would I need to help boost this battery? A schematic, or links to what I can buy would be awesome. Thanks!

They certainly would. You could combine your batteries with the supercapacitors; as the supercapacitors would provide the bulk of the power, the batteries can operate in a more efficient region and hence last longer, and continue to function over a wider SoC window. That is correct EV, but again it is the rate that the electrons are released from the capacitor. You would need many of these but would be far safer and longer lasting than lithium Batteries.
@blg537 жыл бұрын
The "rate of flow of electrons" is not dictated by the source of energy (a battery or a capacitor), but rather by the consumer of energy that source feeds. For example you can have a 5 Watt phone charger and 2000 Watt electric heater, both require identical voltage to work (let's say 12 Volt). You will find that the latter will produce much higher flow of electrons that the former from the same source discharging it faster. That what makes batteries and capacitors suitable for some applications and unsuitable for others.

because a battery would be like 3.000.000 farads.... but a supercapacitor is up to 10.000 farads? 300 times less energy storage. And don't counting the charge recovery which the chemistry can do. Also 2.7v vs 12v, so you needs to place like 5 capacitors in serie, which the result is like the half of the half of the half of the half, 5 times half! Because the formula would be TOTAL CAPACITY = (c1 * c2) / (c1+c2) = cr1 ; (cr1 * c3) / (cr1+c3) = cr2 ....
