I just remember him saying we are working on new songs for an up coming album do you want to hear it? And this was before they got big. Only few thousand club size. Was my first real concert that was in the big city that parents were not involved in. Was memorable.

I feel like the time during the SOD beginnings was a time of trying to make different music withing a genre. I mean take dry kill logic for an example also. High-school 9/11 system of a down was a bad ass band back when the radio actually played songs. Everything is streamed and downloaded these days. Alot of you dont understand the need for cassette tapes with tape on them...slipknot system of a down mudvayne disturbed and so on......911 was a turning point in this country now were faced with political agendas forcing hate and violence then you throw in a world wide pandemic into the mix.......if I had any reason to believe this would be from from back then till now.................I would have been a teenage statistic like the rest. Times have changed so drastically and not for the better what so ever.

I mean, it's a bit of an odd argument that a song called suicide is a bad thing, when there are plenty of other rock and metal songs that are 10x worse! Even Bill Withers' Better off Dead features a gun shot after singing "I'd be better off dead"! So yeah, that decision was all about mainstream success, so shouldn't that mean they sold out?
