I imagine their idea looks like this: Compartment A contains Poison 1 blended with Antidote for Poison 2; Compartment B contains Poison 2 blended with Antidote for Poison 1; so when you mix the two blends together for the third cup (the assassin's cup), that cup contains both Poisons 1 and 2 and the antidotes for both! Well also the point of the Assassin's tea pot is your target is watching you make the tea, not knowing there is a reservoir underneath. the top of the tea pot comes off, so you can load it like a normal tea pot, the bottom has to be loaded through some other method. So the poison tea is supposed to be on bottom.

Yea if the segments are equally big, once someone starts getting symptoms, it's not hard to spot that the teapot looks suspicious. The poison should be in the bottom in a very small volume :P Maybe someone still studies the teapot closely, but that's my 10 cents for organising normal drink and poison. In any case the assassin would probably flee the scene after pouring the drinks (and seeing that they have been consumed).

I think the issue is that the 2D Teapot doesn't seem to be fully sealed between the two chambers, so the upper liquid is slowly leaking into the bottom liquid. Still, it is a great reference.
