I don't understand why people in the comment are criticizing the boss only by a clip that's probably scripted. In my opinion she is realistic, she takes care of her employees by negotiating their salary and agree on it. That's why she wants them to reach their yearly goal in return. If you're talking about her dictatorship, I think it's because she knows what's best for her company and one of it is by moving her employee to another division. Esteem is a big company, if they can't keep up with her style of working then there are still other people lining up to take over their job.

I agree. Honestly, I think part of it probably has to do with gender roles and it's relation to leadership. If women act accordingly to their stereotype/gender role which says they're gentle and empathetic, people criticize them for not being strong enough of a leader. If women act against their gender role and are strong and willful, people unconsciously dislike that they're going against their gender role and say that they're too assertive etc. Plus imo CEO Kim is just being bluntly realistic, in the end, everyone is working in order to make a living/earn money. Some people just can't handle the straight truth.

Being strict with your employers and nitpicking each and every thing won't keep your employees motivated. You get the teacher-student effect. Kids will pretend to study when the teacher is present and start slacking when they're not. It's not a conscious decision, it's a simple cause-effect thing. That's why it's not wise for her to jump on every little thing, picking battles and taking on a coaching route is better. Also, if you keep shutting employees down at a meeting like that, they won't be forthcoming next time with creative ideas, fearing the backlash. Meaning the CEO will be doing a lot of the thinking, because she keeps going down hard on the mistakes. The more she holds onto the reigns, the less independent her employees become. It hampers creativity. Her employees are not as experienced as she is, therefore she needs to come down hard only when there are big mistakes being made compared to the amount of experience these employees have. Sure, I'd push for the employee to go get the lights changed, it's crucial, because the guests need to be able to see their products no matter what the techs say. But coming down on something trivial as the slip of the mind over when the event ends is not productive. That's something I would've let go.

To be honest, it's stressful and intimidating to work with her. But it's another reason why CEOs need to be that way in order to make sure her staff are in tip top level. What I like is she does acknowledge those that work hard. You have to be hard on your staff at times so that they wont get complacent along the way.

School kids who probably failed in math commenting about her leadership LOL. You all can't relate or understand cause you all probably not a boss or not am employee of any company. I'm a working person and I know how the boss are. Don't expect your boss to be like kdrama handsome boss.

she seems like a good boss to me, she's tough but also really considerate. if she doesn't inforce rules and standards then everything goes downhill and she worked really hard for her company so I completely get it. I would love to work for her.

The funny thing is... have you ever seen a CEO gotten fired before? Base on a public corp. A CEO is like the highest rank employee of a company . That person still has to work diligently to make progress or not they can still get fire.

This is a video from 2019 and I'm just watching it from Dec 2021 and I spotted Jung Hoyeon among the models they have shown. It made me ecstatic to see her here klfjsdkljfklsdjfds (I have known that Hoyeon worked in ESteem but I was just happy to see her here)

This is normal, you can't always say i will try better next time that's unreal. People need a plan to present and execute not only words and promises

She is right, people that aren’t clean have a disorganized mind. I can’t speak for everyone, but I seen that at my work every day 🧐 due to disorganization = bad communication = misunderstanding = chaos 🤯

She's so cool 😎 to all the haters, you just hating cos you know you'll never be like her. It takes strong leadership to build your company to a MNC, this is definitely not something anyone can do. So she definitely needs to be strict. I can agree with her. I'm actually disappointed in the employees. They didn't seem v competent and looked like they lacked initiative from the video. I expected more from a leading fashion company... I can totally understand why she would be angry with them. I'm alr smh. Instead of making her seem like a bad boss, the show needs to acknowledge their mistakes. I mean are you a good boss if you just keep quiet about all the mistakes made and the show turns out to be a mess?

I can see why she's a CEO. She basically making sure everyone does their job from every department. If you don't oversee what your staff are doing, the business will fail in matter of times

i dont mind her leadership style cos clearly it works. i just think from a balance perspective it doesnt make sense that the stress falls more upon employees than it does the ceo. the ceo orders the employee to do deliver on X, and doesnt have to worry about how to execute X, while the employee is pressured to somehow do X regardless of how difficult it it is. so, pushing them works - that's not special to her though. she just told them to do it. and then you might say "she works more hours." true, she probably stays longer than her employees - but a lot of the times it seems like her job is very 'macro' and less 'micro' - she isn't worried about X, she's worried about how X fits in with Y and Z, and that just means she's going less deep into X, Y, Z, and so that means those hours worked are really not as "intense" as the hours worked by someone whose sole purpose is to work on X, Y, or Z. and to me, the most annoying part is how her emotions can dictate how much criticism she gives to her employees, which rly shows what is necesssary (pushing them to their limits) and what isn't necessary (basing how much criticism on your feeling at the time). nonetheless, the fact is she's somehow got into that position, and it seems like she's kept it well and ran the company well. and it also seems like she pays her employees well. i just really hate the 'baby-ish' aspect of her leadership style where it makes her unnecessarily authoritative. the way she moves people around or the way she pushes them to do things - she can choose not to do it based off of emotion or to move ppl in an impromptu way. But she chooses to do so because she knows it works. and i cant blame her. lol. just dont like it.
