To be honest there’s a reason why she is the CEO, there’s a reason why she basically helped lead fashion for like 20+ years, there’s a reason why she’s still at the top of fashion, at the top of her game, and there’s a reason why you’re commenting talking about you don’t like her too so in the end she still successful she still making $1000 per week the salary and increasing her pay every year because she successful. Y’all stay mad and stagnant.

I don't understand why people in the comment are criticizing the boss only by a clip that's probably scripted. In my opinion she is realistic, she takes care of her employees by negotiating their salary and agree on it. That's why she wants them to reach their yearly goal in return. If you're talking about her dictatorship, I think it's because she knows what's best for her company and one of it is by moving her employee to another division. Esteem is a big company, if they can't keep up with her style of working then there are still other people lining up to take over their job.

I agree. Honestly, I think part of it probably has to do with gender roles and it's relation to leadership. If women act accordingly to their stereotype/gender role which says they're gentle and empathetic, people criticize them for not being strong enough of a leader. If women act against their gender role and are strong and willful, people unconsciously dislike that they're going against their gender role and say that they're too assertive etc. Plus imo CEO Kim is just being bluntly realistic, in the end, everyone is working in order to make a living/earn money. Some people just can't handle the straight truth.

yes yes yes! I don't have a boss but when I joined volleyball I sucked real bad and the strict coach was harsher to me because I just started that year. I would cry sometimes because he would always put pressure to me. I remember when I tried running away from overhand serves, he made me serve in front of everyone and every time I missed he would make the team run. Everyone probably hated me haha. I cried so hard but I practiced everyday and improved. The most satisfying thing was when he told me, "You've improved the most this year" and "I want you to be the captain, that's why I'm harsher to you." Bro, the feels when he finally approves u is the best.

that's true but not everyone is able to. You need to have a strong mindset and working ethics to make it work, especially in highly competetive work environments. Some people need more room or a slower tempo and can't work well in these fields. She's actually doing a very good job because if you can't stand her type of leadership you properly won't make it in the professional fashion industry. That doesn't mean you're incompetent but maybe you need to look for other kinds of fields which suit your working style more.

Agree. A MD that I used to work with had the same qualities and he was the best leader I've worked under. Disciplined and straight to the point, if things go wrong he'd expect an explanation and what will be done to rectify it....so everyone picked up the habit of being proactive and learnt how work better with each other. But he will also recognize and reward good effort and achievements. Everyone respected him at the end as he had been fair.

I know how it feels. My CEOs and finance director only focus on maximizing shareholders profit, my past COO used to overlook employees' mistakes, it actually kept the problems instead of bringing solutions. My boss, the finance director, is totally the opposite, she's honest and if someone happens to do something wrong she is firm and straightforward, she became the person my CEOs trust the most. That's why you have to be professional, I don't understand some comments saying the CEO Kim is bad or anything, she's doing her job.

Honestly, I want a Boss like this. I've been with one for almost 2 years and I must say that our team are disciplined compared to others. We know that in our every action, there's a corresponding reaction or results that may result to something. As a result, our scores are better plus we gain the trust and recognition of other people as they know how our Boss works. Yes, they are really intimidating and scary but they know what is the best. Ofcourse, some of us cried during Coaching session but it made us better.

Being strict with your employers and nitpicking each and every thing won't keep your employees motivated. You get the teacher-student effect. Kids will pretend to study when the teacher is present and start slacking when they're not. It's not a conscious decision, it's a simple cause-effect thing. That's why it's not wise for her to jump on every little thing, picking battles and taking on a coaching route is better. Also, if you keep shutting employees down at a meeting like that, they won't be forthcoming next time with creative ideas, fearing the backlash. Meaning the CEO will be doing a lot of the thinking, because she keeps going down hard on the mistakes. The more she holds onto the reigns, the less independent her employees become. It hampers creativity. Her employees are not as experienced as she is, therefore she needs to come down hard only when there are big mistakes being made compared to the amount of experience these employees have. Sure, I'd push for the employee to go get the lights changed, it's crucial, because the guests need to be able to see their products no matter what the techs say. But coming down on something trivial as the slip of the mind over when the event ends is not productive. That's something I would've let go.

Why they call her devil?? What do you expect ??? They are just here for reacting on this but they being annoying, Korea's no. 1 model company, if it's no. 1 then credit goes to her leadership, decisions, and boldness, if a man being confident and straight forward he is boss or a man, but if a woman being the same she seems as devil?? Or bold confident. Oh God sick of these stereotypes

I love how she sees your potential and trust your words but still being strict. The employer said that they will do it but someone else was unsure of it, but she didn't hesitate to encourage the employer saying "if they say they can do it. Let them do it" if I had that kind of boss that trusts me and knows what they can get from me if they push hard enough, I'd stay there forever! If I slack, She will push me to be better and know my place, because the end of the day I earn the same amount of money, but the company won't if I make mistakes and slack off, so why pay me if I do that? No wonder that lady stayed for 12 years, she must've grown so much just buy working there!

To be honest, it's stressful and intimidating to work with her. But it's another reason why CEOs need to be that way in order to make sure her staff are in tip top level. What I like is she does acknowledge those that work hard. You have to be hard on your staff at times so that they wont get complacent along the way.

The funny thing is... have you ever seen a CEO gotten fired before? Base on a public corp. A CEO is like the highest rank employee of a company . That person still has to work diligently to make progress or not they can still get fire.

She's so cool 😎 to all the haters, you just hating cos you know you'll never be like her. It takes strong leadership to build your company to a MNC, this is definitely not something anyone can do. So she definitely needs to be strict. I can agree with her. I'm actually disappointed in the employees. They didn't seem v competent and looked like they lacked initiative from the video. I expected more from a leading fashion company... I can totally understand why she would be angry with them. I'm alr smh. Instead of making her seem like a bad boss, the show needs to acknowledge their mistakes. I mean are you a good boss if you just keep quiet about all the mistakes made and the show turns out to be a mess?

i dont mind her leadership style cos clearly it works. i just think from a balance perspective it doesnt make sense that the stress falls more upon employees than it does the ceo. the ceo orders the employee to do deliver on X, and doesnt have to worry about how to execute X, while the employee is pressured to somehow do X regardless of how difficult it it is. so, pushing them works - that's not special to her though. she just told them to do it. and then you might say "she works more hours." true, she probably stays longer than her employees - but a lot of the times it seems like her job is very 'macro' and less 'micro' - she isn't worried about X, she's worried about how X fits in with Y and Z, and that just means she's going less deep into X, Y, Z, and so that means those hours worked are really not as "intense" as the hours worked by someone whose sole purpose is to work on X, Y, or Z. and to me, the most annoying part is how her emotions can dictate how much criticism she gives to her employees, which rly shows what is necesssary (pushing them to their limits) and what isn't necessary (basing how much criticism on your feeling at the time). nonetheless, the fact is she's somehow got into that position, and it seems like she's kept it well and ran the company well. and it also seems like she pays her employees well. i just really hate the 'baby-ish' aspect of her leadership style where it makes her unnecessarily authoritative. the way she moves people around or the way she pushes them to do things - she can choose not to do it based off of emotion or to move ppl in an impromptu way. But she chooses to do so because she knows it works. and i cant blame her. lol. just dont like it.
