First off , love the name lol. But yeah you’re right I was so hyped when they announced the 12K and now they just don’t even mention it because they know they jumped the gun so hard on that one. We will see how the Crystal Super goes because I am a little worried it will be more of the same thing because of the impressive features they are promising. Only time will tell.

​@@drmikehuntphd7905 It's not just Pimax who were late. Somnium also said their VR1 headset would be delivered in Q4 2022. They are nearly two years late but they always get a pass front he community while Pimax doesn't for some reason.

Well, if the photo of boxes awaiting shipment aren't empty boxes, I counted 765 units in that pic (255 x 3 units/box). No telling how often a pile like that ships out, but it's something.

The only reason I can think of you assemble parts by hand instead of using robots is that this technology evolves so fast it isn't worth creating an automated manufacturing factory line if in 2 years time the headset design will change again.

Why? It is almost never worth it to manufacture a device with robots. The iphone is put together by a human. Humans are the cheapest. That‘s why everything is made in china. Paying a worker 400$ a month is cheaper than creating a custom factory line.

I've tried the local dimming. It is absolutely worth it. I would have bought the cheaper one before... But not anymore. If you can: go for the dimming, it is definitely worth it!

Wowww, that is really Amazing.. OMGG, it makes me think on the progression on the Super as well, when its ready to be built up for shipping. (Since the PCB will be shorter/smaller in size of somewhat) Cant also wait for that Headset as well. But I cant wait for Crystal Light, I have a feeling its gonna make me go WOW in the clarity than the 8KX that I tried out way back. (Fingers cross that I wont run into any issues, while trying out the Inside tracking, Light House Face Plate, DMAS) Hopefully its going to be my default standard for sure than my Valve Index Headset I be giving feedback to my friends also on the headset, since I know they also want to upgrade or want to purchase a VR headset.

Very much looking forward to getting my Crystal Light (who knows when that will be), I hope the quality is good and I get a good HMD, very much looking forward to the better VR experience especially for sim racing and flight sims (Using Reverb G2v2 now). My 1st VR headset was a Pimax 4K, can't say I was impressed with it, hopefully the Crystal Light blows me away.

I'm looking at the Crystal Super bundle,should be fun. I've been in vr/ar wearable computing for over twenty five years. With each generation there are improvements in size, when these are like sunglasses it will be great. A not too bulky see thru HMD , sunglasses like, or the old Sony Glasstron style, Twiddler one handed keyboard/mouse and a smartphone,or wearable computer making using the computer while walking easier on the neck! Wonder if many others would like a clip on HMD, or something more covert?

"By the end of May" should be a deadline you respect, or at the very least, provide a statement with updates..

I got an email newsletter today (31 May '24) that says the CL is beginning to ship now, with first shipment last week. So hang in there! After the teething pains you probably know about last year, I'm very happy with my Crystal and support has been amazingly good, although sometimes it takes a while to see a fix. They've even made changes to firmware functionality that I asked for (I'm sure I wasn't the only one).
