I have tried pretty much all of the major headset on the market, and when I got my Pimax Crystal Light (w local dimming), I was very impressed with comfort and clarity, mind blowing when sim racing. I’m also faster with this headset, right from my first race, and that’s transitioning from Reverb G2. Thank you Pimax for creating such advanced headset, wish you success and prosperity!

I used to use a Pimax 8KX after my quest 2. Great fov and displayport view! But it wasn’t for me the application was buggy back then so I switched to quest 3. But now the light is out i cant wait to switch!

i think your video is in parts missleading. for rotations it is also important where the weight is located. the least prefurable position is far away from the pivot point in the front. you didn't make a thinner hmd like quest 3, where the weight is nearer to the pivot point because they use pancake optics that make this possible, yours is much further away and it is also more (in some parts unnecessary) bulky. also i think you comparison with the index(that is also quite heavy for a pcvr hmd; why don't you compare it to a rift cv1 that weights around 500 gramm?) is not completely fair. the index has dmas-like speakers built in and you have to add your pimax lighthouse faceplate that adds a bit of weight.... if you want to compare hmds you should compare the front alone, because nearly everything else, including the needed counterweight, is depending on that! don't get me wrong, the crystal light compared to the crystal (non-light) was a step in the right direction in terms of weight but the crystal light, even with the light in its name, is still frontheavy and heavy overall... if you add the needed counterbalance weight, dmas, lh-plate it weights around 1.2 kilogramm. a look into the future: your pimax super will also be more heavier than needed, because of your optical engine exchange system, even with small and light micro-oled displays, right? why don't you try to build a less heavy pcvr-hmd that takes more advantage of the tether, because tethered pcvr hmds don't need all these extra components that a standalonehmd needs that add weight and take space inside the hmd?

Of course, the Crystal Light is confortable. Just one thing can be improved, the stability in roll. Some cushions on the the side would have been welcomed to stabilize it on the head.

You're absolutely right. Reason, I removed the stock strap and modified my Pimax Crystal Light with the good ol' Deluxe Audio Headstrap. I replaced the Face Cushion and added another to the back, making the HMD much more stable,secure, and very little room to wiggle. Not to mention improving the comfortability of the HMD overall. I ❤ it.

I actually fly in the Crystal for 3 or 4 hours with no issues. Only issue I have is that I need to wear an over the ear audio headset and this is a challenge. I am able to do it but takes a fair bit of adjusting. I bought the comfort strap but had to modify it as it is designed with the earphones mounted which I have to remove. It would be nice to have a head strap option without audio

@montrose699 I am sure a 3rd party company will make one. I already removed my stock headstrap and modified my Deluxe Audio Headstrap to work on Crystal Light. I just had to make a hole big enough to clear the lock piece they have on the two side clips. There is a screw and washer holding it on. That is what I used to hold my new headstrap. It definitely makes a world of difference. Much more comfortable for me. You can probably do the same modifications to an aftermarket Quest 3 headstrap with a much better design so it is easier for you to use your headphone 🎧 😉 👌

What kind of testing do you do with glasses wearers including different glasses designs and sizes?

Many people in our office have glasses and we do tests with people that have different strengths, and keep a log. Then there are several beta tests and always acquiring user feedback.

Why you dont make ring (O shape) at the back of your head? This head strap looks same as 8kx. My experience with it is that back part of head strap is slips off the back of my head. I dream to have something like bobvr head strap for pimax. But they dont sell anything for pimax.

Good things come to those who wait. But, I am with you. I hate waiting. Reason I hurry up and Pre-ordered this local Dimming Version with the Light House Face Plate. I already have my and it is 💯 fantastic. Best visuals I have ever experienced, and I just learned that. If I buy some controllers, I can take advantage of the inside-out tracking as well. Seeing how that is already built into the headset. So, I get the best of both tracking worlds. You should really go for the Local Dimming Version so you can have the best of both those worlds as well. And you won't have to wait as long. I myself am patiently waiting for Nvidia to release a 5090 card. So I can really take advantage of this headset. It is future proof for sure. 💯 But I definitely understand it sucks having to wait! ⏳️

@@tomc1380 that is your opinion, Yes it is 2024 and out of the 14 different headsets I own I can gladly and proudly say this Pimax Crystal Light is the best HMD I own. Sounds to me you went with a Bigscreen Beyond or a Quest 3 which if that is what you prefer. Go for it and enjoy! Note: neither one of those is better than this one in my opinion. 😉👌

Pimax crystal light - High end PCVR for everyone. Isn't that a little tone deaf considering just hours prior to this video dropping, you can no longer purchase the headset outright but instead preorder? And most of the people that did pre-order will be experiencing delays in receiving their units? There were promises (made on a blog dated 16th of June) stating there will be weekly shipping updates after addressing poor communications from the company up until that point. They didn't release an update until the 28th of June which is nearly two weeks. Pimax should change its name to Lie-Max. At least own the lies!
