I so agree with you Adam we need a “BENCH”!!! I am so sick of seeing a bad bench and having to hold my breath.

They talk of resting the starters more. Ok then the team loses 10 more games and finished 10th. Smh

Vlatko hasn't given you a single reason not to trust him. He has never disgraced himself. Quite the contrary. He does a little bit of everything perfectly well. Is he a great starter? No. Is he a perfectly viable backup to give Gordon or Porter a little rest in the playoffs? Yes.

I think the statement about having the best player should be slightly amended, and then it remains true. The team with the best offensive closer has an advantage. In a close game, having the better closer can make a huge difference in the wins and losses columns. Jokic being possibly the greatest finisher from 7 to 12 ft, as well as an excellent passer and decision maker in the clutch is a massive advantage.

Denver definitely had a depth issue in the playoffs. They didn’t have guys that could give meaningful minutes, and if Jokic sat it they struggled to stay afloat.

Sorry…aren’t WE a recent winner? This shit about “learning from” a team that basically went out and added two more all-stars in order to win is not a recipe.

Without KCP I think we are royally screwed. I'm not a huge fan of Calvin Booth tbh. He gets credit for helping to find Jokic, but if he doesn't augment that with the right pieces, what are we even doing?

Yeah I think having the best player on the court is half the battle to winning a championship
imo the jure trade was so obviously a bad move for the bucks. as a boston fan i was v familiar w the bucks defensive woes. reg szn they had good numbers but they hadnt had a single good wing defender since pj tucker in their title run. so trading literally their only remaining plus perimeter defender w/o replacing that skillset was a death sentence. i said that the minute that trade happened it wasnt like trading smart for the Cs. they had another all-defensive guard already on the roster in dwhite, and then picking up jrue was like over kill lol

to your point abt jaylen browns' unexpected leap: idk seems to me like bron got WAYYYY better after his age 26 szn. he had so much to learn he kept getting better even when his athleticism waned during his 2nd stint in cleveland. steph also got way better after his age 26 szn. he was much worse on defense n much worse in iso at 27 than he was at 33 when he won his first fmvp. it took yrs of building his body up to have the strength to be more impactful on both ends. all the best guys get much better during their primes. kawhi is another one i expect both jaylen n jayson to continue to get meaningfully better over the next 5 yrs or so
@taylor72643 ай бұрын
jb said his biggest area growth was in mindset. n if you followed the cs as much as you follow denver you'd know that's true. he's just been a a better decision maker all around this yr - on both sides of the ball. he's reading the game better now. he knows where to be on defense, not falling asleep on back cuts etc. hes making better rim reads and attacking more quickly but still under control to better capitalize of tilted defenses. etc..
@melodymaker1353 ай бұрын
I would love to trade Porter, keep KCP, and just look people in the eye and say Screw it, we’re more about defense now…. we’ll start winning 103-92, counts just as much as a 116-105 win

to your point abt having "the best player" in a series: at the time tim duncan was never looked at as the best player in the world. he still beat lebron twice in the finals. he still won 5 rings. n its BC of those 5 rings we consider him a top 10 guy all-time now. there are plenty of guys that scored more ppg or won more mvps that weren't close to as great as timmy. and this is true despite timmy having a TON of talent around him (d.robinsoon, tonyp, kawhi, manu, etc...). its the same w tatum n brown

Owners aren't worried about money but they're happy about the second apron which gives them an excuse to not spend all the money they're allowed to spend on a roster

to your point abt dribble drives being a bad brad of basketball (a thread lol) : dribble drives are also the easiest way to draw help n they do the most to compromise a defense...its not primarily a foul grifting tactic. cs didnt even get to the line that much this yr. i think they were in the bottom 3rd of the league.
@taylor72643 ай бұрын
if you draw a double through a post up the defense gets to decide where to send the help from. but on a dribble drive the offense has more say in how they move/manipulate the defense i thought that concept was big when you look at how the wolves played denver and how the wolves played the mavs: v den wolves put gobert on ag and sent their doubles on jokic from the high side so they didnt have to help off ag which allowed gobert to stay home n prevent the lob and contest dribble drives and the same time. v dal luka got dribble penetration towards gobert which forced him to be the one to help n that opened up the lobs to gafford n lively which was the mavs best source of offense
@taylor72643 ай бұрын
also as a fan of basketball how do you not like watching guys break down defenders off the dribble?!?! aside from the occasional dunk in the half court or steph curry level shot-making dribble drives are the biggest showcase of skill n athleticism in the league! youre literally the only person in my 33 yrs of living ive ever heard say they dont like watching dirbble drives lol. no exaggeration like bruh did you think watching allen iverson was boring? dr. j? or jordan? or lebron? or kobe? or ja? or ant? or dwade? bc all those guys were primarily dribble drive guys..and all those guys are some of the most aesthetically pleasing players in the history of the league

When you sign the biggest contract ever for head coach you have a commitment, you have a duty of effort to perform under that contract. Monty Williams barely even tried. Even if he was unhappy, he should have stuck with it and tried to figure it out. But it was obvious he had given up in his first year. It looks like an intentional tank job to grab the cash and run. And now he can go to the Lakers on a cheap deal because Detroit is still paying him, like Russ in Pittsburg.
@westernkselite5243 ай бұрын
I never thought Jaylen Brown was significantly better then last year. He did cut down on some of his bonehead decisions but he was much the same as last year, the difference is they had Jrue and Porzingis who are, along with Derrick White, as good of 3-5 optiin as a team can have. Imagine White here in Denver. I'd take him and Holiday over MPJ and KCP in a heartbeat!

Imagine having Al or Naz as back up on cheap deal and saying it's not that important position, WOW, imagine having them play for 20 minutes in regular season and about 14 in playoffs, Naz can play 4 too, Jok would be more efective in fewer minutes coz he can give more energy on both ends
@Munnnn83 ай бұрын
Not getting any of them there not gunna b cheap 😂 even al horford at his old age is still probably worth about 10 mill & im sure Minnesota isn’t getting rid of naz easily or for cheap, 3pt shooting big so valuable & even horford is still a heck of defender

@@Munnnn8 my point is, back up C is very underrated, closest to rim and how ever you look, it's most effective shot coz it's from close range, for example, Lively takes 5 shot 4/5,Regie,Luka,Jamal goes 4/9,simple math,15 mil is a great deal, next year Jamal will cost us 50 and most PG playing against logic in numbers

So low iq thinking, imagine Murray is injured again, your whole season is gone again. Anyone could get injured, but why limit your possibilities. Starting 5 is second best because of Jokic, but in the playoffs he is so heavily guarded by the best defenders that you actually need your other players to play as well, at that point they are not top 2 starting 5, they are top 6 starting 5, and it was evident that they can't play on a high level because there is very limited things to what they can do offensively without being babysitted by Jokic.
