the sound effects really bring this show to the next level. the fact that sounds happen when someone says they do somethings keep me so emmersed in the story. and stuff like them thinking of what sound each spell would make, it's so much detail and it's amazing. this really is the hidden magic of the show

I love live DND shows like when they did D20 live and Critical role, but the editing in Unsleeping City (first d20 I watched) was so good that I just enjoyed it so much more. It really helped me focus and was so immersive. Not to mention the Unsleeping City intros were so wild, the editing really just elevated it.

Clap clap clap!!! The sound effects are veeery much appreciated (actually I felt sad that the players can't hear them while playing :)) ), and the music is sooo nice, immersive and enhancing and not generic at all!! (which it could've been very easily)

the editing adds SO much to the show, thank you so much for your hard work! sometimes i'll rewatch seasons and have episodes playing in the background, but i'll know to pay attention when i hear suspenseful or exciting music playing the audio cues really make it so much more immersive!

I got into D20 recently and just finished Fantasy High. I just wanted to say that it makes me soooo happy to see the people working behind the scenes being given all the credit they deserve. I am in audiovisual production myself and one of the things that I never stop thinking about while watching this channel is how much work is put into editing the videos so I am super hyped that this video exists

The addition of the Health Bar is one of my FAVOURITE features in Dimension 20! It is so simple yet so effective, the visual of the health bar going to red as my heart rate increases is to powerful!

There are so many great elements to Dimension 20: the settings and stories, Brennan's in-the-moment DMing, the player-driven chaos, the acting, the minis and maps, the DOME. But the editing really elevates everything, especially the musical cues and sound effects. It strengthens the immersion so much. There are other actual plays that have good writing, DMing, players, and production design, but D20's editing sets it apart.

The DM in one of my campaigns suggested this. I can't see why. Scripted, mass-produced, and edited to the nth degree. I'd rather watch a real, imperfect game.

it’s actually still very much an actual play series! it’s just lots of editing bc it’s a multi-camera show and they need to edit around lots of dead space and time for counting dice or in between dialogue, but they’ve spoken a lot about how it’s still improv

tl;dr it’s still 10000% worth a watch and still feels like a real game, so i’d urge you to take a chance on it :)
