The giant container ship that was blocking the Suez Canal for nearly a week finally made it through. Salvage teams worked on land and water for six days and nights and were assisted by the moon and tide. The ship is one of the largest in the world - as long as the Empire State Building is tall. It weighs 224,000 tons.

Oh yes, because nothing says good marketing like your ship having a technical failure and as a result blocking the Suez canal and causing distress to the global trade. Nothing says trust our company more than blantant incompetence and damaging your potential clients profit....wait, wait no that's not how the world works. Exactly the opposite holds true in fact, why would anyone choose a corporation that has shown such incompetence to transfer their products? If this is marketing stun i am sorry but they should fire their entire marketing team because that's not how marketing works..

I believe the blocking of the canal was intentionally done and Not an accident, The most riskiest part of any journey, trip, voyage and etc. is when you're more alert, whether you are in control of a ship, car, airplane, train, walking through a dangerous neighborhood and etc. In this case the risk is passing through the canal, Ship captains are well experienced especially one in control of a ship this magnitude [the length of the empire state building] he would have been extremely cautious and alert while passing through the canal and would have quickly observed the ship drifting before it turns sideways, got stuck and completely blocks the canal.

Sure. They deliberately lost billions of dollars just for entertainment. As if this is the first time a ship ran aground. As if high tech societies can't just screw up. And I thought I was inconvenienced for being blocked on a road, while storm chasing, after a tornado littered the road with trees and powerlines. I was stuck for about 90 minutes and was furious. Now, I'm imagining being stuck for 6 days, plus 3 more days to clear the backlog. Dang.
