god this is beautiful. you’ve probably been told this 1,000 times, but you truly are such a talented director, writer, and editor. the visual aesthetic matches the subject matter perfectly. not only that, but you were able to tell the audience why and explain why this movie is your favorite, something many people can’t do well. fantastic job, can’t wait for more.

Watched this film tonight because my pal Nalbis said it was one of his favorites. Truly a lovely film and video! I follow your letterboxd and write reviews for everything I watch, here's the one I wrote on my experience of this film. 4.5 stars. "My one qualm with this movie is that it told a story I didn't believe existed, one that I wanted to tell first... True story, but this time, no cap. About 2 years ago now, my whole family was told my grandfather's heart was failing. The emotional dynamics and events that took place surrounding this knowledge have staked themselves so deeply within my heart. The two stories are wildly similar, but also distinct in that my family and I are all of Western blood. Being one of 7 children growing up, prolonged attention was hard to come by. I can only reference my own childhood experience, so it is hard to know, but my family has always seemed to be in a uniquely extreme state of isolation. Even when we would have events together, they were adorned with intense banter, performance, and general individualistic outbursts competing for attention and meaning. My grandfather stood out amidst this isolation for every single one of us, as someone who truly gave each of us his attention - intellectually in his brilliance - but most significantly in practice. He was there to support me when I needed funds to visit Europe and France with my school, he was there to teach me to swim and to snowboard, he was there when I learned to unicycle, he was there to support both my private, classical education, and my film education. Miraculously he is still here! Despite whatever grief was present at the prospect of one of my favorite people's death, that was one of the warmest times I've ever experienced with my family collectively. Our divided attention brought to a pure, inarguble focus on our love for our Pappa. This felt paradox of grief and warmth is what makes this film. Really a beautiful film, where like reality, it is seeped in subtlety. I'm most keen on observational cinema. Where narrative, isn't delivered through a feeding tube of special effects, transitions, and tasteless cuts. In an era of mediocre, over-produced cinema, we've gotten used to taking for granted the image. I loved the breathability of the beautiful, simple, still-shots of this film. Making true cinema doesnt happen by obsessing over novelty/originality, but in most cases in an understanding of the beautifully ordinary."

Okay so I checked a lot of the videos from your channel but none of them got copyright striked just copyright-claimed and this video probably won't result in termination of your channel as a lot of the clips shown in the movie are in fact falling under fair use but listen you have nothing to worry about I'm sure channel will not get terminated but if it does well I'll have to re-upload the videos

Dear nalbis, Sir. You have a precise, unique sight. clockwork-like; handmade: bespoke. The highest caliber, yet a mechanism wrought as fragile as the rainbow that comprises an insect wing- a fleeting, transient nuance, the ever subtle exquisite knife-edge of one impeccably crafted perspective.. made all the more singular..in it's pure ability to captivate an audience with the same species of magic that has almost imperceptibly altered you but too, has sharpened all of your most sacred and windpetal-light edges and inevitably, Hones the Blade of your Lense. There may be one or two others or even a small handful, of minds such as yours, alive on Earth at this moment, or in the sum comprising the past and future of one hundred years. But your specific tribe is a spare one, differentiated by it's rarity and it's special genius and innovation. I feel blessed to be alive during your lifetime, especially at the beginning of your creative journey.
