What you said, starting at around 12:42 was so good that I’m gonna have to write ✍️ that down and make a meme of it, too!🥳 Each of us has a right to freedom of speech. Freedom of movement. I started to tumble down the rabbit hole of "awareness" in 2015. It has sometimes been (and remains) a starkly lonely path. It's nice to go online and know that others are on a similar path, though it is a joy often tempered by the sometimes profound physical distances that separate us.

I have grown to not like the rhetorical device of antithesis such as used there. It is too much like rigid black and white thinking and ignores the vast nuances and shades of gray in between and the diversity of options that exist or can be created. Also leads to the caricatures we have of each other as liberals and conservatives. They sound nifty and dramatic like "Give me liberty or give me death" but they generally don't work for me. What about just staying alive until the Nazis are defeated when you and your family may well, before too long, get a shot at freedom again?

But we must stand strong and remember this is a material world and it's not worth surrendering our principles. It serves them that people don't believe in a divine order, if you believe this world is all there is you will give up all everything to stay "alive" nobody asks the price we pay....we pay by giving up what makes us essentially humans free will, choice...even if at times individuals make the wrong choices it is what makes us human and only each individual can understand the truth and the nature of his existence and transcend, the collective cannot.

You're right! It is so ironic (yet repeated throughout history and in practically every empire) that the greatest traitors are above the law, and actually help create the law, and then twist it to their own cynical ends. Meanwhile, well-meaning patriots run afoul of this enormous legal fiction, and are tarred as "traitors" by the real traitors themselves! A truly wise person is rare. A truly good person is even rarer. It is no coincidence that both groups have found themselves all too often at the mercy of the State, and hated or betrayed by the very species they strove to serve! So now we find ourselves, in America and everywhere else, in the unhappy position of being subjects of laws created by a class of people who couldn't care less about the countries they govern, and will gladly betray their nation for the right number of zeroes.

Especially our hearing, all eras of gut wrenching, dizzying, heartpounding music is being played and remixed and over dubbed at levels which are deadly to some humans and many nonhuman species. And outdoor concerts are held during breeding periods for numerous creatures and plants. Many are ignored and destroyed by this "killer" industry. These arrogant hot heads should be under a contract with "nature" to be incompliance, with regulations. We must take some action to assist in the process to keep them QUIET. Before more violence in schools breaks out, we all know it's MUSIC related, but their lawyers keep their names out of any trouble. NATURE needs our help too... this is rarely addressed. Of course, while bad things become influential the good things aren't attractive no more. We have been conditioned into thinking that happiness is based on consumption and hedonism, and our anger is based on political spectrums or the popular trend that make others angry too for some simplistic reason. Freedom is not important for most of us because we don't lack of it, we humans tend to abandon our responsibilities as if they are going to solve themselves or last forever, sadly they overcome our expectations and end up becoming a regret.

I'll play devil's advocate here. The problem with many of the forms of collectivism mentioned here is that it is implemented on such a large scale that participation in the "collective" is involuntary. There is such a great difference between voluntary and involuntary collectivism. I played in bands when I was younger, and a remarkable thing about a band is that the group can be greater than the "sum" of the individuals that make up the group. As individuals, the members may seem unexceptional, but in the right combination there is this this strange synergy that happens and something "emerges" that is greater than the individuals in isolation. That's just something to consider.

It is weird. Since when do your individual actions lead to a better society for others? Take Asian culture, for example. > Individual person loves to walk around with short skirts. > Doesn't do that because it may bother some others. > Becomes less happy as a result of restricting herself. > She also does this with many things she likes, holding herself back with hundreds of little things. > Every single person is pretty much the same. They all sacrifice their own happiness so everyone else can be happier. But since everyone else does the same, the result is that no one is happier in the end. In the end the only ones benefitting from this are those with a higher status/authority. If they bother someone, others won't speak back since it reflects badly on them. And others don't bother them since it also reflects badly on them. And if for some reason you're picked as a victim to bully... you'll just have to endure since there's nothing else you can do to make the situation better and nothing anyone will do for you.

Yes but if humanity is not saved then what will become of it? Death for sure, but there are those who wish for a different outcome. Is it not good to try to save humanity for the sake of the few true individuals that shape and change the world and who help us to reach new heights? Some don't seek any kind of power from saving the world. No position of higher hierarchy. But it makes you wonder though. If humanity doesn't seek to improve itself why should we just accept that? Should't there be something or someone to shove humanity to the "right" direction? If we as individuals seek to save our species from its fate because as it happens we are also humans, is it wrong if we do it in a manner that most humans of "society" won't understand? Like reaching for power and using it for humanity's "good"?

When it comes to what authority, I'd say my will to see the human race thrive and not allow it to decay, because for some reason I give a damn(sometimes I wonder why) is the authority. We talk about how we should not trample on the freedom of other individuals or government and the way they choose to live their lives but what happens when other individuals trample on my freedom and my rights? My right to see humanity prosper and not hang itself from a rope? Am I on the wrong for not allowing individuals and governments to impose their vision on me? All humans are individuals. Some lesser, some greater. Should I allow lesser or greater individuals to stir the wheel of the ship or allow the ship to hit the rocks (inaction) just because no one wanted to take the wheel? There are some people who have the wrong idea about the greater good, or take mistakenly extreme measures to achieve it. That does not mean the greater good does not exist or that it shouldn't be strived for. After all, you and I and all our great technology exist today precisely because our ancestors worked for the greater good. Now we benefit from it, and yet we want to selfishly ignore our duty to pursue the greater good for our descendants in turn. That is how societies and cultures die out. This channel teaches you to think for yourself, so do it and you'll see that this video is mostly garbage in its portrayal of the most important concept man has created in order to progress humanity to where it is today.

There's nothing further removed from freedom than ignorance. When we're unaware of the chains that bind us and in some cases, even prefer them, then freedom isn't even desirable, which is a horrible place to be

Indeed. Some of us have learned to love our pitiful condition and call it freedom. We are so easily bribed. This a brilliant presentation there seems to be very few people speaking about these ideas. These important concepts have been argued by some the the worlds greatest minds since the time of the Greeks and the dawn of our earliest civilizations. I would pose a question. What makes a family? Is it merely our common blood or the bond of love, trust, respect and mutuality. As members of families do we empower, protect, encourage, reciprocate, and care for one another. These are actions and behaviors not merely ideals. It is the natural desire for these values that keeps a family strong and thriving. If my family is greedy envious and ruthless, my neighbors untrustworthy and my government corrupt could I truly call my fellow citizens friend. Could I then extol the virtues of my country and burden under the illusion of being part of a society. What makes a society, what is the mark of a true society. Do we truly live by the motto, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity or have we been sold a lie intended to serve those in power not society.
