What would you say is the most specific aerospace engineering aspect of the iron dome? I’m writing about feats in the field of engineering & specifically aerospace. And do you have any other suggestions for new game changing technology or aspects of one that’s specifically come out of aerospace engineering and why? Any response would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say the missile itself is the most aerospace part of the Iron dome. But as far as the newest most game changing technology in the industry, I'd have to say hypersonic missiles are the biggest kinematic threat to a modern military. If you watch my latest video it talks about why that is.

@@AviationAustin lol yeah you're right. Well as they say you need three things to get an aircraft flying: Wings, Engines, and Political Will. So it is almost impossible to fully avoid politics when discussing anything aerospace 😅.

I would love to see more on rocketry and missile technology, and wondering if you could go into interception protocols and Kalman filters. Also though it does have its drawbacks is not still cheaper and better than the Patriot missile system?

Cheaper yes, but the Iron Dome is not equipped to handle more sophisticated threats. The US is currently updating their missile/ missile defense arsenal. That being said I believe the US has acquired some Iron Dome batteries for forward operating bases. I think Kalman filters is beyond the scope of what I want to discuss on the channel. But i have a missile video in the works

Absolutely. They knew the threats weren't going to be sophisticated/ guided. So it certainly accomplishes it's task of defending against unguided shells and rockets
