Real Knick fans know this is great for us. We need to compete NOW. For you young bucks that have not been following the Knicks since the EWING DAYS or before or never been to a live game or seen hundreds of gave in person, we are tired of getting ZERO...Devo will be missed but we were not even in the finals last year. So, you guys all stuck-on Devo please stop it. We are lucky BRUNSON was not injured for real. When was the last time we had a championship? Do the math. GO KNICKS!!!!! Now is the time!!!

I'll just leave this here: JRand, 30, 6'8" PLAYOFFS: Pts - 16.6 RBS - 8.3 Blk - 0.3 Ast - 3.6 TO - 3.5 PF - 2.4 3ptA - 6.6 3% - 25.8% FtA -5.5 Ft% - 70.9% DWs - .5 DBPM - (.6) KAT, 29, 7'0" PLAYOFFS : Pts - 19 RBS -9 Blk - .2 Ast - 2.6 TO - 1.7 PF - 3.4 3ptA - 5.2 3% - 36% FtA - 4.3 Ft% - 85% DWs - .6 DBPM - .6 I think it's important to note that it shows KAT being a less worse defensive player (which may be true) but I think it helps that KAT is 7 feet, and played with Rudy and McDaniels. Additionally, JR would have been forced to play more at the 5 where he hadn't played a ton since NOLA and LA. By contrast, KATs last All NBA season was when he played the 5 back in 2021-22 where he played 100% at Center. Offensively, KAT is going to open up a lot and perhaps return to a All NBA caliber of player. Foul trouble and defense is where KAT may suffer. Financially, KAT is expensive as hell and needs to play to that value. Centers who stretch the floor are paid at a premium. So you gotta live with his cap hit. Lastly, if you consider what the Knicks gave up for KAT relative to what Minnesota gave up for Rudy. It's easy to see that this is a hard deal to say no to. The Detroit heavily protected FRPs are not that valuable, JR was either gonna walk, or get signed to a deal that doesn't improve the Knicks, and DDV is a tough loss because of his defense, hustle, and certainly high volume 3pt shooting.

Love this comment! Thank you for this. That little nugget of KAT having his last ALL-NBA season was a good one!

KAT may be a lil soft defensively but we've got 2 excellent defenders at PF and SF to help shore that up in OG and Mikal. And this team's hard nosed attitude should also rub off on KAT, who himself played tougher under Coach Thibs.

Randle: 93% ofr, 21% dfr, 35% 3pt KAT: 89% ofr, 82% dfr, 40% 3pt People forget that Hart in the starting lineup giving us blue collar worker triple doubles (10/10/10), will be so important for a team with 39-40% shooters from 3pt. Hart is the best rebounding guard in the NBA under 6'4", and KAT averaged over 11R and 25 pts per game without Gorbert clogging the paint and Edwards taking over the 1a spot on offense. This will be a more fluid, efficient, and more effective lineup without Julius stopping the flow of the ball and without his bone head 4-5 TOs per game. I hate losing Donte!
