I first saw TYT when i was a kid during the end of the Bush administration and it was really my first exposure to "intellectual" political discussion and I was impressed with them. Now, instead of blindly trusting any party, they rely on their own logic and acknowledge that they could be wrong. As a result, the animosity from before has faded. People do change, and that doesn't make you fake. Of course, Cenk is also playing a character to some extent, since that is what everyone who needs to entertain their audience does, so who knows?

I usually find Cenk unpersuasive because I have to really concentrate on what he is saying, not the way he is saying it. But this was by far his most persuasive performance in a while. I'm 2 minutes into the podcast and Cenk has been brilliant so far. It is great to hear the perspective of someone from left, who has spent time with the elites, articulate exactly how the elites think of those who disagree with them, including left wing populists. There was a time left and right wanted the same thing, but disagreed on the method of getting there. Now the elites and populists want totally different things. Looking down on those you disagree with is only going to make the division worse.
