@@spaghettimon3851this is far too simplistic a look, dismisses all of the interpersonal relationships that prexisted both of the concepts you mention and their effect on Lebanon. Is western imperialism and capitalism part of the picture? Certainly, but so is ottoman imperialism, which lasted for substantially longer, so are the ethic tensions in the region. Karl Marx would be shaking in his grave if he saw such simplification applied to a very complex and tumultuous region. The only way you could simplify further is by blaming it on "bad things". This isn't just my idea, listen to the music of Fela Kit, a dogmatically anti colonial musician from Nigeria and much of his critique is not just towards the colonisers, but also the colonised ruling class that sought wealth and power at the utter detriment of their subjects. These causes are all interlinked and as I've asserted- simplification of these problems diservices our understanding and the people who continue to suffer today.

As always with these things, the answer usually lies on who you hate the most and allying against that group. Palestinians who hate the US would fight for China even if they culturally genocide other Muslims. An unfortunate aspect about human nature. Overall its understandable; nations act out in their interests. The only thing that gets me is Middle Easterners acting as if Westerners acting out harshly against this is some kind of hypocrisy when their own nations give even less of a shit about refugees or other groups. It's just bashing, not reasonable criticism. Still, appreciate the video, always good to get a wider perspective regardless of politics.

2:30 1.you could have expanded on that "Syria" part, this is 90% the reason why we dont join the sanctions. Why you didn't mention Iran and Hezbollah actions in Syria that forced us to make a deal with the devil? 2.Also, the whole cap on non Jewish Ukrainians was really just one politician from Yamina (Shaked) who pushed it, and everyone went along because nobody really wanted to lose her to the opposition, before they lost an MP to the opposition and now we have a dysfunctional government in a terrorism wave, but that's another story. 3. I wouldn't call sending humanitarian aid as well as establishing a field hospital inside Ukraine as neutrality. 4.I think it shouldn't be that surprising that Israelis support Ukraine since you can spin the Russian aggression towards Ukraine the same way as Ukrainian aggression towards the Russian minority in Donetsk and Luhansk and how they deserve to be freed from Ukrainian oppression (not that I compare the two, but people do)
