Hi The Neurosurgeons, thank you for your channel. Something is really bothering me as I study though. Could you please answer this for me? Im learning about autoregulation and ICP. So CO2 dilates Arteries in the brain > increasing CBF > but how does this DECREASE CPP and then INCREASE ICP? im lost on this, I thought Increase CBF would INCREASE CPP as they are linear no? thanks

CPP = MAP - ICP. CBF = CPP/central vascular resistance. So if CVR is constant CBF is proportional to CPP. Increase CO2 vasodialates and increases blood flow and blood volume, increasing ICP. It does not reduce CPP.
