I still get catharsis when the first special for season 3 was released and there was news about Disney realising how popular Owl House was in a way that implied that they originally didn’t realise just how popular the show actually was It felt like Disney finally realised that cancelling the Owl House was a bad idea only after it was too late, thus Disney has to suffer the loss of content they themselves cut off, like watching someone cutting off their own foot only to realise that they need both feet to stand

I got my lil cousins hooked... The Owl House is played. On. REPEAT. In that house. Constantly. King is their favorite character. Their favorite couples are, ofc, Amnity and Luz and Eda and Raine. We can tell who the evil twin is, because Eda is her role model.

I watched the show over the course of the last 4 days... idk why but i needed to cry at every single beautiful and sad moment, and i needed to cry pretty much the entire time while watching the finale... i really hope disney realizes what they did wrong and will bring back Dana for more owl house, a continuation of the story where they are exploring the new landmasses that appeared after the titan moved, maybe even a cult that found another way into the human realm and now tries to bring back the sigils and the Emperors coven, etc.

When you have a fan base as dedicated and loving as The Owl House’s, the show will never die. It will live on through comics and ideas and every persons love for this show. I would like someday for these’re to be a sequel show, Luz struggles to become a witch now that she can’t use the glyphs, Amity and Hunter deal with PTSD from Belos and Gus tries to teach the people of the isle more about humans. In the end I love this show and always will and I will always have beef with Disney for cancelling this wonderful show.
@miyu14246 ай бұрын
I just wanted to add that in the last episode of the show after a timeskip, King became powerful enough to manifest his own glyphs so no worries, Luz is eventually able to use the glyphs again! I am curious what she does in the period during the skip though. Maybe she specializes in potions since those don't seem to require magic to brew?

Reminder that the Collector in the form we *got* them, was a result of the show’s chopped runtime; Dana has stated she planned the Archivists but wouldn’t have introduced one as she did, so he/they might have not existed as a result… The way Season 1 ended up - warts and all - resulted in a lot of what Season 2 was especially in the first half; the second half was in part a result of the Season 3 specials. Like you yourself put it, it’s *beautiful* for all its strengths and weaknesses and (frustration with the Disney Company and general profiteering nonsense notwithstanding) I don’t know if I’d have had it any other way.

Something a lot of people missed is that the cancellation/shortening changed the entire trajectory of the show. Everything from season 2 episode 11 onward is a new, distinct direction from what was originally planned, and there's no guarantee that half of what happened in the show as it is would have been a part of the show as it could have been. Apparently the Collector wasn't even going to be a major character, so a full season 3 wouldn't have given more time to King and the Collector's relationship, that relationship likely wouldn't have even existed. Same with all the human world shenanigans from the montage, the hex squad may not have even ended up there. While I'd love to know what the original version of the show would have been like, I adore the version we got and I'm not sure that I'd be willing to trade it for that other theoretical version. While the reasons for the cancellation were bad, I feel like they went beyond making lemonade from lemons. They made the best lemon bars I've ever had the pleasure to eat.

Though it’s unfortunate and quite maddening what Disney did to The Owl House, if it wasn’t for them which forced the team to make the best out of an awful situation, I wouldn’t have developed a new perspective on shows as a whole. Hazbin Hotel is critiqued to hell for its fast pacing and very few episodes, and although this is true, I also see the Spindlehorse team trying their best under Amazon’s greedy higher ups. I’m not saying we need to excuse flaws or never criticize a show, just that maybe we should approach certain shows differently based on the shitty hand they’re dealt. P.S - Companies like Disney and Warner are getting a little too comfortable shutting down projects the masses already want to see, which is so odd considering they’re greedy every other time.

You wanna know why the show is so legendary like gravity Falls? Even now in the year 2024 there are people who are still discovering these shows who have never experienced them and are getting to experience some thing that we got to see on air but not have to wait agonizingly for hiatuses. And Disney like the idiots that they were can't take credit for any new involvement with the series because they were the idiots who tossed away a diamond because they didn't like it and there was trash. Now we can safely enjoy these shows and not have to worry about anyone ruining them and we can enjoy the dumpster fire that is Disney and how they tried to ruin the shows yet we won. TLDR people like me discovering show in 2024 despite Disney trying to ruin it because they hated it even though it was a gold mine

And people wonder why I hate corporations and capitalism generally. Great art, great experiences, great meaning, all of it is consumed and packaged into little soulless packages to be bought and sold. Shows like this are a rare find and even then it didn't fully escape the clutches of corporate executives. Art, people, the human experience. None of these things deserve any of this.

For me it took a while of thinking and self talking to construct a way to comment on this video. It will be a long truthful comment if you will indulge me. The question of "How the Owl House Cheated Death" feels solved by the personal connection made with individuals who experienced the program together. To explain my thinking I need to give some background. I am a high Math major, I spent a good chunk of my life very analytical and literal in my thinking. I loved Math and hated English kind of student, English was only Shakespeare and hard to write sonnets to me at the time. Then I took an alt class that was "Sc-Fi and Fantasy" and fell in love with it. The final project was to create a world and write it out. Since then I have made my own world as a DM for a dnd 5e game, with custom rules, history, a pantheon, and loved every minute of it. On worldbuilding one of the things mentioned is "You can create your own rules, as different from common media as you wish". The four elements of ATLA were very solid in my mind as the "only" elements possible, but The Owl house changed that. It is rare to see a setting where one can watch it and go "It makes sense it was that, there is no world where it could be anything else". So many things about the Boiling Isles felt unique but logical. Verisimilitude is a good world for describing this feeling. A quote that comes to mind is "An image has a thousand words", the snarky comeback I always gave was "Yeah cause you have to name each color of the pixels, of course it would be thousands of words". But this time felt different, instead it felt like I could see the narration in my head. "The smell of salt runs through the air, as a soft breeze comes from the nearby coast. As it crests over the vermilion grass, short but tall enough to flow like the waves of the nearby sea as the wind dances between the blades." This is what came to mind when I imagine a scene in the Boiling Isles, this is what so easy becomes thought due to the worldbuilding done in this show. A sense of connection that fuels the mind to create images and words. And dont get me started on Glyph magic, I love that stuff so much and would do anything to learn what the writers thoughts was on how the system worked. How they made the system, and what their process was to create such a unique beautiful system of magic. Overall this long, essay of a comment, is to say that the love I feel for the show is a personal connection. One of the most personal ones was the Bi flag scene, that touched my heart is personal way, so i was very happy about that moment of representation. This might be an out of date reference, but it feels like a new "L5R" legends of the five rings. Which was a trading card game in the mid 90's that was extremely popular but left a mark on its fan base of loving it so much. Now largely forgotten and poorly documented on the internet, only those that played really remember it. Which kind of feels like us, to the last of my knowledge there is no current host of the Owl House (If there is please let me know) besides peoples DVR's. So in time it will be forgotten, but not by us. For us it will be a part of us, and an individual one that holds a special place in many hearts.

I find a problem with how people keep calling it a “queer show” not because I’m a hater or anything but because that isn’t the point of the show the show tried to show people how cool the world will be when kids grow up and figure things out and the relationship was a small part of that more of a method than an actual point for the show. What I’m saying is the show did many much crazier and better things than just be queer.
