Hey Eckhart! Could you do a video related to “Space Battleship Yamato” in some way? It’s a Japanese science fiction series that has a fair amount of powerful/interesting ships and factions. If you ever try any versus with ships/ factions from Yamato I’d suggest: Eclipse class super star destroyer vs Medaruza class heavy battleship (Space Battleship Yamato) Subjugator class heavy cruiser vs Medaruza class heavy battleship. Imperial fleet at Endor vs Gamilas fleet at the battle of Pluto (Space Battleship Yamato) Starkiller base vs Bolar Federation fortress (Space Battleship Yamato 3) UNCF Andromeda (AAA-01) vs the first order. Space Battleship Yamato (the ship, either season 3 or late 2202) vs the Galactic Empire before the battle of yavin. Dark Empire fleet at Byss vs Bolar Federation fleet at Berth. (Space Battleship Yamato 3) I really like Yamato and I’d love to see it at least mentioned, maybe do a video on the Yamato herself? If you take high end feats, the Yamato could even destroy the sun crusher (Maybe that should be your next versus)

So here's the story so no one's confused: I started off by reading ABOUT Legacy in the guidebooks and Wookieepedia but didn't properly read a comic until fairly recently. I don't think that should invalidate my love of the era, though, and I still got a TON of the story and background info from secondary sources before I read the comic properly. Sorry if my comments were misleading.

I still have a fondness for the Eclipse class of Star Destroyer. That thing feels kind of like Jason or Mike Meyers in the way that it doesn't matter how fast or how far you run, there's still no escape and nowhere to hide from it.

It can still only fire it's main weapon dead ahead though, but any large less maneuverable ships are toast. I guess it's secondary weapons and auxiliary ships and fighters would take care of the rest though. It would be interesting to see a ship that could be an actual match for it though, or if that ship even exists.

In one of the empire at war mods I destroyed the Eclipse by sending waves of k wings to torpedo her ahead of my capital ships. The Eclipse was taken out before it could fire it's super laser

Sure, the coaxial superlaser is a nice touch, but even without it is more than capable of taking out entire fleets on its own. the turbolasers are not a 'secondary weapon' they are the main ship-to-ship combat tool of the Eclipse, with the superlaser being primarily a siege weapon. "The class benefited from the most significant weaponry-improvements of the last few decades. This included gravity well projectors and improved ion cannons, the former of which were the same types included on the -class Star Destroyers. Additionally, these behemoths were armed with hundreds of heavy laser and turbolaser mountings" From wookieepedia. It can also carry a complement of Shadow Droids, also known as the scariest fighters in all of star wars that dont get nearly enough love. You could remove the superlaser from the Eclipse, it'd still be nearly invincible. I dont think the superlaser was even mentioned in the original source for it.

@@lenkagamine4145 Yeah I was trying to say that in a little less comprehensive way. I have read and do own almost all the guides and comics featuring the eclipse I and II as a matter of fact so I am aware of all of its capabilities. Some of its standard weapons could probably match the auto cannons of the mandator IV in fact. Plus it's hull armor and shields was damn near impenetrable, at least until it's hit with a planet shattering force itself. It was better than the death star if not far more practical if you ask me. Who knows a few more years of development and it's main weapon could probably have exceeded the original DS in application and destructive capability. If a single slightly larger regular star destroyer can I don't see why not. Damn I should not have used the word though so much lol

@@DeathBYDesign666 It is truly a phenomenal ship, basically the perfect flagship or command ship owing to its immense durability. The Imperious would still be a great ship to retain as a standard line ship though, between the two of them you'd be basically invincible. One of the great things about the Eclipse relative to alot of other similar ships in star wars is it doesnt need to be protected by other ships, since it on its own is so durable. This is a big weakness of alot of imperial fleets who have fast moving star destroyers who are constrained to defending their flagship instead of moving on their own to flank or intercept.

For me I can’t choose between the Pellaeon, the Imperious, or the Nebula. The Pellaeon and Imperious are really cool because they take the Imperial design philosophy and make it practical. On the other hand the Nebula is nice because it’s very well designed and it looks great.

The legacy era of Star Wars EU was one of the first eras I got to know outside of the movies and their timelines. I think one of the main reasons why I loved that era was all the really fascinating and interesting things going on with the lore of Star Wars during that era. I just noticed in a comics explained video that this trend of stealing ship designs has been going on for longer than we thought. There was a ship in the thanos imperative that looks exactly like an ancient battleship from stargate Atlantis. This is main Marvel comics and it's an actual Canon ship from another franchise.

TheWingland SOF and Cutter had already lost half their crew by that point, and since the forerunner ships needed at least skeleton crews, there was no way they could feasibly take the forerunner fleet. The next best option would be to asset deny the entire planet by doing the same kind of Slipspace supernova explosion. Except this time, because they defeated the covenant, they would have time to rig a forerunner slipspace engine to cause the supernova instead of their own. This way, they could blow up the shield world while returning to Human Space within a reasonable time instead of 27 years.

Well, given Cutter had lost a lot of his crew and ground forces, they wouldn't be able to take the entire fleet on their own. If they could get reinforcements from the UNSC quickly and no more Covies showed up and the sentinels kept the Flood at bay, then maybe the UNSC could've taken the fleet. If not the entire fleet, at least one or two ships. If they couldn't get reinforcements in time, or the Flood got out of control, blow it up with a Forerunner slipspace drive. Then jump back home using the still functioning Spirit of Fire about 30 years early.

Sam Speed Reinforcements are unlikely to come. Arcadia was the closest colony to this shield world, and it’s entire defence fleet save for one halcyon class went up in flames after the SOF left. The nearest roaming UNSC battlegroup would probably be days, if not weeks out. They’d probably not even be able to help either, given that the outer colonies were burning during 2530.

The ship actually reminds me a lot of the WW2 Russian tank the T-34. This is because of its slanted armor. The T-34’s utilization of slanted armor allowed it to be reasonable powerful.This Star Destroyer seems to use the same method, as to make it’s armor stronger. Of course, I just thought that was a bit of a neat similarity between the two war machines. Love the video!

Forerunner in contrast feel more like being there mostly to deliver some background fluff and being the incredibly advanced society that was doomed to fail. Similar to the Dark Age of Technology era humanity. Or the Old Ones. Funny though that they arent even that advanced in comparison to some of the more insane examples 'cough Downstreamers cough'

The _Imperious,_ along with the _Ardent_ and the (TIE) _Predator_ (classic looking 'command' version; not the one with the weird looking cockpit) are probably some of my most favourite ship designs in Star Wars, surpassed only by the Legacy-Era GA fleet (i.e.: The _MC140 Scythe, Tri-Scythe, Sabertooth, ShaShore, BB2 Starfire_ and _14 Ionizer_-classes, respectively), the CIS navy as a whole and the New Republic New Class Modernazation Program with ships like the _Nebula,_ the _Endurance,_ and the _Corona Frigate,_ as well as some Old Republic/Sith Empire (Revan Edition™) designs like the _Hammerhead Cruiser_ or _Interdictor-class cruiser,_ from KotOR.

Say what you will about the superiority of the old continuity against the new one but I prefer my ships to look intimidating so that enemies will run away from me which can save a lot of lives by avoiding unnecessary conflicts. I also kinda think the nebula is a tad too plain, I like ships to be somewhat greebled up. I would still opt to close my front opening though. Now go ahead and bury me.

Sometimes I forget about how people on this site might not have a lot of extended universe knowledge (Case in point, I wonder how many new fans get confused with you bringing up the European Union, or cis-males/females. I'm willing to bet that less than 30% of Star Wars fans know what the Confederacy of Independent Systems is. I'm sure that more know what the Extended Universe is though.). Halo theory idea What if the UNSC had never researched the spartan 2 or mjolnir programs. However one month after first contact with the covenant the UNSC INFINITY and her escort fleet of Autumn class cruisers appear at earth through a wormhole. The ships are fully operational and have manuals detailing how all ship systems, such as shielding and more advanced slipsace, operate and also how to build them for other ships. However it goes not have the spartan 4s. How does this affect the human covenant war? Does humanity win or lose? #askeck

Humanity could curb stomp the covenant in space combat but ground battles would go to covenant without the spartan 2s and I could see humanity taking a lot more casualties on the ground but I still think humanity would win

Depending on how fast humanity can adapt from the advanced tech, I say its probably a complete reverse of the war. Humanity dominates in space while on the ground humanity also dominates due to the fact they were always better in ground combat when compared to the covenant. Also are you including forerunner tech gotten from the Prometheans, along with covenant tech or just human technology.

Also the subtle case with Mandalorians during the Sith-Imperial War. It's nobrainer to me that One Sith orchestrated the events leading to Yaga Auchs taking the mantle of Mandalore to keep them Mandos out of the war. With Mandalorians on their side G.A. would be a tough nut to crack.

As for the Mon-Cal scythe in the Legacy Era? Rotate the vertical blade section on the front until it lies flat. Then you have ventral and dorsal batteries that can fire in a dome-arc including the ship's rear arc.

Thanos attacks planets on an individual basis. Any Galactic-level power would be able to take out his army. Thanos himself is a bit more tricky.

It is hard to fathom how the designers can continue to milk the delta hull form when the histories show time and time again that the Mon Cal ellipsoid shape has greater flexibility and robustness for a given volume. I realize the love for the delta as being ubiquitous with Star Wars lore but tactically the Mon Cal ships punched well above their weight and a lot of that was due to their hull form which opened up optional maneuvers that often placed delta hull shaped ships at a disadvantage.

I think it was more a question of tactics than capability. Both times the "snow" speeders were used in TESB they were A. they were looking for something at ground level. B. they were using the mountains for cover in order to not be shot out of the sky before even getting onto the battle field. Also a ground level enemy that just happens to be a mobile heavy weapons firing platform. (We also take for granted how good the pilots in Luke's Squad were, in order to (cough) keep up. I'm pretty sure other pilots would not dare do some of that stuff. )

Personally i like the Resurgent class Star Destroyer the most, i think it's very well designed in-universe and it looks like a nice mix of more sci-fi designs with traditional designs. It also looks like the logical next step in Star Destroyer designs, much more than a lot of those (or lack thereof) seen in legends
