@@michardavI’m just going to guess, but those storms consumed a lot of Force energy from him. Palpatine grew stronger when he relished in the pain and suffering of others. Just as pain and suffering hurt Jedi. The Death Star was a weapon. If he could create multiple of them and deploy them around the galaxy, he could cause galaxy-wide pain and suffering without needing to expend his Force energy. He would just sit on his throne and consistently grow more powerful. The more life he took, the more the living would fall into despair, the more powerful he would grow. Plus, this is purely just my own imagination, but while Palpatine was already extremely powerful, his knowledge was also beyond impressive. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had knowledge of ancient Force/Sith abilities he wanted to experiment/try but they probably required massive amounts of Force energy to perform. It’s possible he was collecting that energy to perform even more tragic and demented feats that were never said aloud.

@TheStupendousWave, I'm not surprised. Do you think it also relates to the book-burning by the Nazis in the World War II era? It seems suppression of information and ideas is imperative for a fascist regime.
@Iron9365 ай бұрын
First of all the library Alexandria was not burned on purpose, by the Romans it was not a target ,it caught fire during the battle somehow, it was held by the Egyptians during most of it. We don't know exactly how it happened, this known, and its loss was regretted by Caesar. Secondly it is also known specifically which books the Nazis burned, but its never taught in your public school history classes, for a reason. The allies destroyed far more records, books, and literature when they conquered Germany than the Germans ever did, and that will never be taught in school either.
@Sci-Fi-Mike5 ай бұрын
@@Iron936 , that's historically been in dispute. Regardless, it was burned during a Roman assault on Alexandria. I doubt they'd turn their own scrolls, garnered over hundreds of years, into a pyre. And Nazis burning any books, in my opinion, is not ok.

I don't just want to sit here, and crap on Disney Star Wars; that happens enough, but this stuff is MY Star Wars; the material I loved, and loved to nerd about through college, and later, and since there are some people who don't like "fan fiction", and woykd say that this stuff isn't canon, so it doesn't matter, this helps me to continue to enjoy one of my favorite verses, and hobbies, no matter what else the modern day, and modern fandom, might be doing. Thank you! I'm always a bit shocked at how much the Jedi speak about balance, when they could hardly be more out of balance than they are. I can appreciate that, if they had to focus, they elected to focus on the Light Side, but much like I often wonder what the Jedi imagined the Chosen One would do to "bring balance to the Force", when the Sith were assumedly dead, and gone, and there really wasn't another strong Dark Side tradition they feared, I wonder what balance they felt they had, in the Force, that so totally excluded a whole half of it?

As at 1:51, as well as 4:00, calling what binds all life The Force vs The Dark Side is canon. There is no true Light Side of The Force; the Sith take a small but powerful segment of The Force to its extremes. Balance means returning The Force to its natural state. There’s a reason that episode 6 is called Return of The Jedi rather than Revenge of the Jedi. That’s my two cents, anyway.

and there are still people here arguing that palpatine was stronger than vitiate "because vitiate only uses rituals and magic" while it is estabilished that Sith Sorcery and Rituals are the greatest powers a Sith can achieve. Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Bane believed that beings with a true affinity for Sith magic were few and far between. To him, Sith magic allowed an individual to channel the dark side with maximum effect[7] in ways that he, even as the prophesied "Sith'ari,"[21] was unable to do.[7] "A rare few have a natural affinity for the dark side itself. They can delve into the depths of the Force and summon arcane energies to twist and warp the world around them. They can invoke ancient rituals of the Sith; they can invoke power and unleash terrible spells and dark magics." ―Darth Bane[7]

The new Jedi were right though balance is the light and the dark is imbalance like a saucer balance the top of a needle, the cyst, trying to knock it off not all dark abilities are intrinsically bad, or even the manor in which of the dark side is fueled but the dark side itself is intrinsically bad
@richardsloan65675 ай бұрын
When the Jedi took over from the je'daii it unbalanced the force so greatly it created a wound in the force which directly lead to the living force creating the Sith to restore balance. In Star Wars The living force wants to exist in both the light and the dark equally never truelly favoring one. So since the Jedi fell apart and reformed as the light only loving Jedi it hurt the living force and the will of nature to the point the Sith arose with the help and full blessing of the living force. The Jedi might be "less evil" then the Sith but they totally went against the will of the force so hard it lead to most of the evil that happened next. My point is basically the Jedi was the single worst thing to happen to the Star Wars universe.
