Why would they?? The first brood of them tried and failed to attach and died off quickly after. The following broods are shot away from them, as they are either close to or behind Starfish. Sure they're still at risk, but someone would mention it's weird they kept protecting their face despite never getting attacked by them again if they had gone the other way on that, especially with Polka-Dot Man and Bloodsport not having any face protection at hand, it would look weird while they're going for cool at that point. Of course they could have let them be attacked again to make it less weird, but that would be less interesting than them fighting the Star-Crossed/zombies and Starfish
