It’s so great that you’re reading more books by DNFing! I’ve done something similar and I’m much happier with what I’ve read this year compared to others. I’ve hauled in so many books this year, but I think my fav is Light From Uncommon Stars: I’ve been after it for ages and I found it in this lovely SFF bookshop on holiday in San Francisco and it makes me think of that trip every time I see it. Looking forward to see who the winner of the challenge is!

Love the idea of doing this together with someone, accountability definitely works😂 I've also been trying to lower my TBR before the new year, but it's not going very fast😅 I don't think I've hauled too many books this year compared to some other years (30 maybe?) and I've been reading more than ever, but I've been using the library so much that my TBR still grew😅

Accountability (and competivity mostly, I have to admit!) helps a lot! Ah yes, using the library really can curdle the cutting down on the tbr, but it's also such a good thing to do so I don't think you're doing too badly at all 😇

I've hauled 11 physical books (mostly manga) this year and then I've logged about 25 ebook purchases, but one of those purchases was a 30 book bundle and one was a Kickstarter from which I'll get multiple novellas. 😅

I think I have hauled 48. I have a rule to only buy four books a month, and it any is above 30 it counts as two. So it wouldn't be anymore than that. As for my favourite that I have hauled probably Yellow Jessamine or The Route of Ice and Salt. The first is a new favourite and one that I brought this year. The second is one that I heard early this year, and struggled to get but now I finally have it. It is very high up in my tbr and I have read the introduction and author note at the beginning.

I have read about 35 books this year and DNF'd more. My biggest issue has been finding books I want to read. I have had to go with what I can in my local Waterstones, libraries and charity shops. Unfortunately, limited range. So, perhaps I should make more of an effort to find books that are a bit different!
