And that ladies and gentlemen, is why loyalty is overrated in the NBA. You can be loyal to a franchise for 10+ years and they still won’t know how to build around you or give you a chance to win. Which is why LeBron, AD, KG and other players have every right to do what’s best for them and not worry about the franchise.
@LeeSquilliam
@LeeSquilliam 5 жыл бұрын
Wade County this is the truth just imagine if Lebron never left the Cavs for Miami he’d have no rings just a bunch of meaningless records and stats NBA loyalty means nothing if your franchise can’t you help out as a star player more superstars should be willing or consider to leave their current team if nothing is being done to compete for a title that’s what the NBA is all about

Existent David Exactly people call KD a snake for joining the warriors in reality he put himself in the best possible scenario to win a championship and he did that so people can no longer say KD hasn’t accomplished anything when he’s a two time NBA champ two finals mvp and is on the road to a third championship when guys like Lillard and Beal want to be loyal to an organization that has little to no chance of competing with other teams or surrounding them more talent then they become those players that were really good but nothing to show for it other than stats

I'll never forgive the Suns for not following through with this trade. The Wolves wanted Amare, who had a horrible work ethic (read Seven Seconds or Less), was injury prone, fresh off microfracture surgery, and really bad defense. Getting Garnett would have put the Suns in the best position to win a title since Charles was there.

He said he'd only accept being traded if it was to a contender and preferably a warm city. 2. Timberwolves still had the capacity to sign good players. But they wasted their assets on Joe Smith TWICE in which they lost draft picks as penalty and they still eventually signed him years later. Timberwolves overall is just a bad organization that made huge mistakes. Hopefully they don't make the same mistakes with their current roster.

This feels like its a small market syndrome. It seems like small market teams that get a generational talent have no idea what to do with it or how to build around them. Giannis and AD most recently just felt like the front offices were throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. In Giannis’s case they finally got the right people making good decisions.

KG shoulda been a laker. 4 team proposed trade was shut down because Mchale couldn’t stomach giving his franchise guy to rival lakers so gave him to his favorite team instead. Kg to LA, Bynum and Odom to wolves, Celtics get jermaine O’Neal, and pacers getting al Jefferson and picks or whatever

KG was every bit the talent of Tim Duncan, he was just stuck in the frozen impotent hell of Minnesota. Some things you can't control as a player, but KG was a winner.

Dom, who’s your favorite Celtic that you’ve got to see play live? I’m guessing Paul pierce or KG...?

AD is not in the same place as KG. The Pelicans have done a good job of putting pieces around him. Julius Randle is putting up 20 PPG, Jrue Holiday has near the same, the pulled a trade for DeMarcus Cousins Which shows that they aren’t afraid to pull off a big move to support AD, while KG was in an inept organization.

The Timberwolves lost K.G. to one simple thing stagnation they made it to the WCF in 2004 but that was just a 1 yr lucky run Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell only meshed for 1 good year. Due to the Timberwolves not signing any big name players or drafting high picks from 2005-2007 they set themselves on a rebuilding process with K.G. he saw it and wanted out since he was 11 yrs pro. It was best for him to leave rather than give up the rest of his career not winning a championship or maybe even making the playoffs for along time. You can see why Lebron James left Cleveland in 2010 too. But those 2007 events set off a chain of super teams flocking together just so guys can win Championships but it kinda cheapens it now the victory.

The Joe Smith story is crazy as shit, and hindsight being 20-20 they should’ve traded Marbury or just kept Ray Allen when they drafted him.

The Owner became "friends" with his VP in charge of Basketball, Kevin McHale. Literally, McHale's only achievement was drafting KG. Nothing else. The Owner was too loyal to McHale. On any other team, McHale would have been fired for the Joe Smith Debacle in 2000, he kept his job until 2009. KG was loyal to the Wolves because the Owner was Loyal...to a fault.

Shame. Marbury was meant to be in Minnessota for a long time. He was decent in Jersey and Phoenix, but his career never really took off the way it shouldve

Why the Wolves lost Chauncey: Glen Taylor and McHale (Wolves top brass) didn't want to pay him. Terrell Brandon was viewed as the franchise point guard, and they thought he'd be back. Brandon ended up retiring and the rest is history. One of the worst front office decisions ever. Billups on Wolves would have made a big difference in the playoffs. Detroit wouldn't have the '04 title tho.

I am a Timberwolves fan, and I enjoyed and still do enjoy watching the Wolves, however I started thinking while talking basketball with a couple of co workers, that Cassell, and Marbury, Sprewell, Szerbiak, were all the problem and couldn't get along with IT, however Part of that might be true, but KG may have had something to do with why they couldn't get to the NBA Finals. Or maybe another player may have issues with some of the players I just mentioned. KG is an immediate HOF, but he also had an attitude that could some issues with them.

KG was Lebron before Lebron. Carrying a basement franchise before moving on to a better position to compete for championships. I have no problem with KD leaving OKC its more about who he went to that made the move weak.
