LOL, so that is why I can play the spoons, 100% Irish Grandparents, did dance, I knew why, in every St. Patty's day parade in San Francisco! But when my Pa gave a set of spoons hooked together to learn how to make music, I thought OK, for you, I will play, used to get so embarrassed when a family gatherings he hand me some spoons and asked to play!, Thats a talent I have kept to myself till now lol, I thought it was a quirk, like his songs that were actually stories, like O Zipcoon(not sure of the spelling) ..there once was a man with a double chin, who could performed his skills on a violin ..... you get my drift I am sure LOL💚☘💚

I saw Riverdance on stage when I was about 10. I'm in my mid 30s now and it's still my favorite show I've ever see on stage. The combination of the dance and that music really hits me in a certain way. I imagine anyone who has ever made fun of it has never seen the show. It's so beautiful.

They did a sort of 'Duelling Banjos' in one of the Riverdance shows between a pair of Irish guys and a pair of black guys. It was really interesting the contrast between the stiffness of the Irish and the relaxed style of the black guys. Then they reversed styles. I think the black guys won by a wee bit. I'm Irish by the way.

Oh be still my beating heart! I've always loved Irish dance ❤❤❤❤ I watched Riverdance probably 100x when I was younger lol! (I checked the tape out from our little local library constantly, and finally got to see the show live once in the neighboring city. I was in heaven!) . My mother was Irish and she loves the music and she loves to dance and she and my father many evenings on the weekend will put on an album which came from Ireland and my mother would put on her heels and they would dance for us children… One of my favorite memories. I was amazed at how fast her feet could go ❣️❣️ (especially considering she had a LOT OF BABIES to care for… and always another one on the way it seemed… They had 12 children and 16 years eventually and we’re so happy as where we. They loved music and dancing and worked so hard but it was the music of the Irish set my mother love the most. I’m only sad she cannot see you young lads and all that you can accomplish with Your SWIFT FEET & SPECIAL DANCING SHOES❣️❣️♥️♥️😊 I truly enjoyed your routine and I am looking forward to future dance videos especially since you’re working towards bringing the classic to the present day styles of music and dance. Oh my Goodness! i love you guys already! I am African American I say that because its not many of us that you see in Irish dance classes such as I. Every since Michael Flatley and Jean Butler and Colin Dunne came on the scene in the early 90's I have wanted to learn so I started with taking tap dance in high school back in 1996 in which I learned the basics and some intermediate steps followed up by irish dance classes in Hawaii with 20 year veteran Irish Dance teacher Melanie Nance at jigthishawaii however, a misunderstanding between a student of hers and the Parent company in California led to Melanie giving up her position but she was phenomenal. I however only learned the 123's in softshoe but I gotta learn this before I die! LOL please I wanna eventually get into hard shoes and get faster like you guys. If you ever come to the Mississippi gulf coast I am game I am for real I know you guys are laughing but i am soooo serious I love the music, the flutes, Anuna and everything, great grandfather was Irish descent so yeah thanks for reading.

Went to Ireland in 2019, absolutely amazing place. Beautiful people , music and culture. The accent is also to die for. Btw Newgrange is breathtaking, so underrated and older than Stonehenge.
