In this episode on Tekniq, we venture into a plastic bottle recycling facility making PVC pipes, followed by coconut fibers being repurposed into floor mats. Furthermore, we witness a unique steam powered vehicles on rail. Later, we observe the production of steel spheres.

It was different colored chips. The see through stuffs chips were beige, as opposed the black chips from the sludge 😅 personally I was expecting the black sludge to catch fire. Machine factory, the lot

I totally like the idea of this method of recycling plastic to create a new product that can be used again. The only thing I have an issue is that they are using another type plastic to wrap it up. There is a waste created by using that thin plastic bag to wrap individual spools when they are unwrapped, when instead you could just pack it in recycled paper which is better for the environment.

Whan a friend of mine was in a hospital in Pakistan we went to visit him. When we wee entering the hospital a guy came in an ambulance screaming in pain. He has been covered almost entirely with moten plastic after a factory accident. His mouth was s all I could see that wasn't entirely covered. He must have been in so much pain. Surprised shzock never knocked him out

Safety sandals -- check. Eye protection -- unnecessary. Gloves -- only for the supervisor. Fast moving, unguarded equipment -- of course. Open flame -- yup. Toxic fumes -- always. Scalding-hot black sludge created from dirty plastic -- delicious. Miraculous magical off-screen device that changes color of black sludge to any under the rainbow -- It exists, just ask them.

The plastic waste is presorted into colors and each is made as a separate batch. You could see the first pile was mostly black and dark colors.

technically, the open flame is helping by burning off some of those toxic chemicals in the air... like a flare. as for gloves, if you spill hot plastic on your hand it kind of forms a thin layer (a glove) automatically. same with the eyes, the hot plastic forms goggles.

Why did they shred plastic into tiny pieces, melt them, extrude them, solidify them... only to shred them again into tiny pieces like they've already had?

For consistency. The first shredded pieces are random size, random color and need to be mixed and extruded. The second time they are uniform color and uniform size. This allows for accurate dosage of material for injection molds.

Trotzdem spannend. Die Maschinen müssen ja aus irgendwelchen Schrott zusammen gesetzt worden sein und auf diese Weise wird dort jetzt Geld verdient. Die Arbeitsbedingungen sind furchtbar, aber... Ich könnte mir vorstellen, wenn sie wollten, könnten sie auch das optimieren

저거를 조금만 바꾸면 편하지 않아? 위에서 넣고 부시는데, 저걸 옆으로 넣고 부시거나, 약간 사선으로 45도 각도로 넣고 부시면 일이 더 편하지 않아? 저걸 위에서 아래로 넣을려면 힘들잖아. 저 높이까지플라스틱 들어올리는것이 힘들잖아. 저걸 45도 각도로 약간 눞이거나, 아니면 옆으로 붙여서 밀어넣는것이 어차피 똑같다면 약간 옆으로 눕혀서 일을 하면 좀더 편하지 않아?
