Yes!! This been happening for decades!! Everyone looks forward to this while decreasing the water level of the rice which way back then it’s river was open to the ocean but after years the surf closes the river opening and accumulated water from the mountains! This been going on for over 50 years

Ive seen other videos on this. It happens naturally but for that to occur it floods property inland. So the residents help it by doing this and preemptively stop any flood damage. The beach heals itself and the process continues.

@wattlife8248 No but the amount of water that needs to accumulate inland would cause significant flooding g and property damage. So yes this isn't natural but would happen with or without human intervention.

Ya, even if the beach was destroyed they were only expediting a natural phenomenon. Sooner or later, and probably sooner, that water would’ve made its way to the ocean on its own. But when people do they can control when and where it happens and prevent water from building up upstream and causing flooding further inland.

This is needed to sustain the ecosystem upstream. Large pools and lakes near the ocean cause flooding up the rivers and streams, so this process is almost like a pressure release for a dam. It keeps everything in check. The beach will be back to normal in a few days or a week. Once the water drains, the sand will reform into a beach line and the process will repeat every year.

The dunes in most places are typically heavily monitored and engineered to the best of our ability to tame nature, to prevent water erosion from destroying an entire beach. This sublet is literally in place to gather and be released instead of constantly adding driftto the dune. Forgive me I forget the name for the math involved something to do with plants being strategically placed to grow these alcoves and prevent the over angling of a beach or it's erosion.

For those saying that this isn’t destroying the beach, just keep in mind that it depends. Generally speaking, water crashing into land breaks apart larger rocks into smaller and finer sand, never forming larger rocks again through this process. This process is called erosion, and it’s been happening across almost all coastlines. Doing this may help our properties, but speeds up erosion and receding coastlines. They may be doing this for years, but do people realize how much human activity have caused an unnatural change in our environment? If you guys look at the structure of a lot of beaches, you would actually realize that after a certain point of gradually deepening slopes, there’s generally a “cliff” where the ocean gets really deep all of a sudden. If go far enough from the shore, you might realize that in some beaches. That being said, a lot of people think the beaches heal naturally on their own, but in reality, most beaches don’t do that in the way they think it does and depends on many factors too many of which includes natural disasters, tectonic movement over time, water current direction, etc... There’s actually a lot of room for the sand in the sea floor, especially once it reaches that dip, so erosions generally move the sand outward and levels the sand off. There are moments and mechanics where sand gets pushed back onto the land, but it depends as mentioned earlier and generally sand gets further out. Even though we think the beach is healing most of the time, it’s generally an illusion in which it’s simply leveling off the loose sand. Even though we think the oceans look like it’s always pushing sand towards us, a lot of people seem to forget that the tides recede as well, pulling the sand along with it. As the sand from receding coastlines level off, it’s actually allowing more water into land since the displaces the volume of water further up as more sand sinks towards the sea floor, allowing the flooding to occur more often, as you see here. Moreover, a lot of the people don’t realize that a lot of the sandy beaches we go to are man made and maintained by the government from offshore sand. Otherwise, a lot of natural beaches would look more rocky like California or European coastlines (however that depends on the natural geology of the location in the end). So people thinking that all beaches heals itself naturally, well, it might as well be unnatural for that beach to be there in the first place. Just look up receding coastlines and beach maintenance. It’s more than just climate change.
