Levine would have been a OTH in the 1980s Navy. It was like fight club then. You don't talk about gay and you get to keep your scrambled eggs caps. Oh and Captain Swishbuckle was a good ships captain in the 80s. Except for the enlisted that would not play cabin boy with him. I did manage 4 years of good conduct. But I was not cabin boy material. Then this never got married to a woman, chief took over my section. Maybe it was because I and the 1st class Helmsman were buds. However we were not bunk buddies. When we pulled into port I would have one beer in a gay bar with him and leave. Even after I got married. Yep to a woman. It was not like the 'Beef & Gravy' LT Commander that did get married for show. Then got divorced and did not pay child support. Because there was no child.

Actually it was the West (Christendom) who first created the tradition that the court jester had immunity for what he said. He could be fired, but he couldn't be prosecuted or punished. The best snakes are subtle. Not out in the open for all to see that they are snakes. Most will not see them, because they seem to be on their team. Jesus said "be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves", showing us serpents are not stupid and out in the open evil for all to see. Subtle trickery, making people trust them is what subtle snakes do. Eve trusted a serpent, that seemed to want the best for her. This is the best time for ever for satan to get a big foot in the door, as all he has to do is expose the out in the open evil. and his followers goes unnoticed, and become trusted people mixing in with clueless believers.
