I like how you use a room mic for your videos, no extra bullshit. Keep up the great work, I've watched all of the videos you've put out so far.

Recording the guitar directly is infinitely better, it's not bullshit.

You are the first guitarist I've seen so far, who can play effortlessly so fast with such a powerful attack. Amazing!

i know the feeling of trying to come back after letting it go. it can actually lead you to new places, but its painful. that you have gone through this and express it is one the most interesting things about your channel. best

Man what a fire-y version of He-man! I started in the 90s and hit road block after road block with Nuno. I have NO idea how you worked all of that out by ear! I eventually stopped playing for a decade, but Nuno grabbed me back in around 2010, this time I had the internet so things where a little better, enlightening maybe! Couple of things we've learned from Nuno is, whatever you think it is, it's probably not as hard as that, and hammer-ons from nowhere are your best friend! But even saying that, I'm still no where near!

Same. I started back in the 90’s and immediately wanted to learn every Nuno riff and solo. Boy was I discouraged. 😂

IMO Nuno picks strings lightly but with a lot of precision and punch. It's all about timing, precision(both hands, i.e left hand only plays with fingertips close to nails, not the meaty part of tips) and relaxed approach
@StaceyDouglas2 күн бұрын
@@algor8541 interesting, yes I see Nuno picking very slightly on the upstrokes for like Peacemaker for example, but his fingers are quite flat really generally, not close to the fingernail at all really, hmmm

I do agree with you 100% Ben and just to add some more weight to the topic, playing something right "wrong" or close enough, it´s not only beneficial to building your technique, it´s also beneficial in building your own style, vocabulary and sound.

Amazing stuff as always Ben! You are incredible! Totally agree on all things you mentioned about Harem Scarem & Pete Lesperance✊💗 (finally a proper shoutout!!) My introduction to the band were the albums 'Mood Swings' & 'Harem Scarem' 11 years ago: let's just say I've had them on constant rotation since then! Love your stuff man!🙏

There’s a video of Nuno explaining the exact same thing. He never believed in the guy in the video telling you everything and how to play it. He use to play / learn things wrong. Which developed his string skipping, as he thought that’s what sweep picking was .. At some point you have stop trying to imitate and just be yourself and I totally agree.
