Hmm...sez the frozen Canadian. I wonder how good an insulator this stuff is. What;s its R-value. How does it compare to the fibreglass and foam insulation we use up here in the Great White North? Last, your establishing exterior shot looked suspiciously like Nha Trang, Vietnam for me is the most beautiful country on Earth.

If comparing it to fibreglass and foam insulation, why bother weaving it into a mat? Just fill the void, or spread the fibres over the attic surface. Loose fibres will be much more voluminous and therefore trap more air and provide better insulation than tight strands and ropes that are woven into loose mats full of holes. You wouldn't want it in a cavity wall though - rotting, mould and pests would be a major risk.
