Unless I am misunderstanding him, Gary Vee says we shouldn't niche down - that we should talk about everything that interests us under one umbrella brand rather than have one for fitness, one for business etc What does Think Media think about this? Is niche important?

Gary is right. And I do. And I have expanded more and more. Why we called it a “novelty channel” But initially people have to categorize your content somehow.

The best thing would be to highly emphasis that you can't just upload non edited videos UNLESS you really know what you are talking about. Otherwise, like very many does - it's just noise. So NO, it's not for everyone

On two of my early channels from 2004 and 2005, I used my 17" MacBook Pro $5,000 computer that I bought in 2005 to compile and render my videos. With little results. The 5 channels I'm doing now on a regular basis, I just take a video with my phone and post it, no editing. This channel is about 30% of the way to monetization after 10 months since it began, of just posting straight unedited videos. My other channel that I also equally work regularly with, posting almost identicsl videos just to test KZbin"s obvioys sippression of Christian channels, has neen up and going since 2016. It has a Christian name and theme. Therefore, it has suffered serious suppression by KZbin because of the Christian name. After 7 years, it's only at 40% of the way to monetization, and this channel is set to overtake that one in anout 2 or 3 months. Don't count on a Christian channel as your first channel if you're trying to monetize. Do it only for the Messsge that you're putting out. I also got harassed personally by KZbin employees on the 2016 channel, which I had to take them to the police and to the FBI. KZbin has some seriously morally deficient idiots working for them. So glad Twitter is poised to take over as the first choice. But until then, for the next year or two, KZbin is all we've got.

Misleading, sure there’s little editing but has $10,000+ in equipment and studio. Plus religion is big business. I want to see someone who does this from scratch non religion based and uses a phone. This is like comparing a small town church to a mega church “church makes $7,000,000 a weekend with no advertising”

There’s actually a few creators across multiple niches that do this on their phone. But to your point, niche does matter. If your expertise is in a dying or non existent niche that maybe harder for sure. The format I use is similar to the live streaming twitch model. Different niche basically no equipment: Poetic Flacko (hip hop/media) I’ll think of some more and drop them here later.

You do very well which is impressive you have a great formula. I’m just trying to see that bare bones, content is king, type grass roots channel that explodes. Which I’m sure most start out as.
