Tommie! Thank you so much for the excellent videos. You do an awesome job of breaking things down. I have been a weekend snowboarder for about 14 years. I became complacent and lazy after I was able to do simple carves and charge the groomers. I got bored with snowboarding because I stopped challenging myself to do new things and get better. After watching a handful of your videos I did 3 sessions where I practiced deep carves (being able to grab my edges in carves), fs 180s, ollies / nollies, riding switch, and bringing my knees up towards my chest on jumps. This breathed life back into snowboarding for me. I was so sore at the end of each day but had the biggest smile on my face the whole time. Keep up the great work!

Donnie, exact same thing for me. Tommie / Kevin (Snowboard Pro Camp) unlocked a whole new world for me with freestyle riding. I'm in the midwest so hill riding gets boring after about 1.5 sessions. Freestyle riding those hills, finding cool side hits, going to the park, and progressing on everything has been so much fun.

Tommie, looks like you’re doing an Ollie to 180? So, not a pop to 180? Which do suggest is better for someone learning? Which is easier? Thanks!

Your step by step breakdown and crawl, walk, run approach has helped me immensely in teaching my 10 year old how to do 180s and other tricks. Tricks I learned over 20 years ago through trial and error, but not being able to articulate in a meaningful and readily consumable way to my son. But thanks to you, it has been much easier to teach him and fine tune my own skills as a 45 year old.

Really appreciate that you separated the examples into Regular and Goofy. I ride goofy and as I was watching other videos I had to think really hard on what the opposite looked like from instructors riding Regular. I was like, dang I need to find tutorials from Goofy instructors. Please keep up the good work. I’m gonna share this with my Goofy Crew 😆 P.S. I also appreciated how you broke the instruction into bite-size progressions. Can see myself building confidence as I go try this out tomorrow!

Thanks for the tips man! They really helped me this past weekend getting more clean 180s more often. One thing I definitely noticed was how much just riding switch during the day helps. I know my switch game is off because it's actually more easy/natural for me to throw a fs 180 from goofy to regular than it is for me to go regular to goofy. Will be focusing on switch and those no air 180 spins to switch.

This video is everything!! I have been working on my 180s for a couple weeks now and feeling quite frustrated. I wind up, get ready to pop and then almost panic a bit and can't seem to complete one.. This weekend we will be at Breckenridge and Iam really going to try and bring that back shoulder all the way to the front and commit.... I hope that helps! I refuse to give up haha! Thanks so much! See you out there someday I hope!

Hi Tommie Bennett, one foundation skill question, Do we wind our shoulders and jump on a flat board or edged board ? I find it difficult because the board rotates while I wind my shoulders to get ready to jump that makes the jump without a solid base to initiate! How should we tackle this?

U have to be on an edge to not slip out toe edge is actually easier of front 180s even tho it seems counterintuitive it’s way easy to jump off the toes compared to jumping off the heels
