The problem isn't my missing skill, it is simply the anxiety of failing and getting hurt.

As a mogul skier I found this so helpful as I’ll be advancing to ski jumps next season !! I’ve been training in moguls for 6 years and feel it’s time to switch things up!

I’m around 180 cm (5,9) and I have a pair of twin tips that are 178 cm (5,8). I find it really hard to do a 180 and I often land when I’m at 90 degrees. Is it something wrong with my techniques? Are my skiis to long? Thanks beforehand!

Your skies are a little long but You can defanitly do it (they size up twin tips to account for the tip and tail). If you feel like you arent getting around to the 180, go on flat groud and try spinning as many times as possible in one jump. You will quiclky learn that more "preloading" or "twisting before you jump" you do, the more you will spin. On the slopes you can apply this by twisting your arms and upperbody before you take off. Make sure you twist as hard as you can on the lip of the jump. A small jump will help you get around compared to doing it flat. Just experiment and dont give up on it.

Is there a problem with using Inside Edge for 180? I always use inside edge to approach 180 And I feel more comfortable with that.

As I'm developing in freestyle with skis now, I am going to try a 180 for my first trick, but is this easier to learn than a 360?

Maybe, it´s less rotation and clean 180s are the fundamentals for a 360

I’m no expert in 180s, but I’ve had success practicing on either park jumps with 10 foot gaps or no gap. It’s also good to practice at the end of halfpipes and on side hits(merging trails, sides of trails). Side hits make you need to have an active edge, which is good. If you don’t have a half pipe where you go, try it on smaller side hits before building up to park jumps.

It’s just fine with non-twin tips, It’s just easier to spin and ski switch with twin tips.
