Learn how to 5050 a box on your snowboard with this video. Learning how to 5050 is a great beginner snowboard trick and will get you started hitting boxes in the terrain park.
I break down the 5050's into three parts, the approach, on the box, and landing. I'll also show you the progression so you can learn this snowboard trick quickly and safely. To learn 5050's safely, you want to first practising them on the snow outside the park. You should be super confident doing speed checks on the snow, and riding with your snowboard straight, flat and with some speed.. You always want to master the skills of a snowboard trick outside the park on the snow, before bringing it to a feature in Terrain Park.

I have 3 questions: 1) I did a rail jam at my local resort (Nubs Nob) and I kept hitting one box, mainly because it was the easiest one, but I fell every time I got off the box even though it was only a little tall. I can control everything on the box though. Any suggestions? 2) I just got a Rosginol Rock and Rolla 2015 park and pipe board. The board has raise edges to make my edges mot catch. Is it ok if I keep my edges sharp still so that I can still carve on my board? And do you think it would mess my board up if they ran it through the waxing machine, or did a hot wax on it? 3) watching your other videos (which are amazingly helping me) I saw you Burton bindings where you screwed them in through the sides, I really liked them and was wondering if you knew a website that I could get a pair much like them for a good price?

What's up, Kevin?! Toby here from germany. In this comment I have a question about how to avoid getting off a box sideways ;) In our local indoor funpark we only have a very long flat-down box and the terrain next to it is often very bumpy and steep. So I fall hard, if I don't make it to the end of the box. Unfortunately there are no alternatives around, so I have to deal with that terrific box if I want to improve my sliding skills. Do you have any tips how I prevent myself from slipping off sideways? Just getting on it straight does not always work on this long box, I could need a plan B. Anyway, your videos already helped me a lot and I have to pay you a great compliment. Thank you!

How much does the board's edge affect riding boxes and rails? I keep my edges really sharp and I've caught my edge on the box and fell. I don't know if that would happen with all boxes or just because my local area has really beat up boxes.

If you're riding boxes a lot then you should have duller edges. If you only ride boxes once in a while then be really aware of you sharp edges. Dull is better though.

I have a problem with poping with my snowboard any tips. I has been working most of the time but i'd like to get some more height is there any way to increase the height of your jump except from speed. Like maybe learing to normally jump higher off your feet I'm kinda clueless

So I usually ski and I want to transition into snowboarding... I'm not to worried about turning and stuff because I skate and that sounds pretty similar to skating but I'm not sure if I will be able to control my speed that well... How can I prevent myself from falling whenever I try "heel turns or toe turns"?

niels bish Practice riding with your board flat and straight on the snow first. Keep you weight balanced over your board and make sure you're pointed straight at the box.
