Found family stories for the win. Also any story that reinforces dads are dads regardless of dna. People somehow still struggle with this concept for adoptive and stepparents, but especially for men. If your a parent, you are a parent.

The Minions are fine in the first movie, the reason most people dislike the minions was from the amount of them being oversold, being on everything, every piece of marketing had them be the forefront, even the sequels dedicating enormous amounts of screentime to them and taking away from the main plot while they are somewhere else doing stuff.

This is one of those movie franchises where I honestly have almost no opinion. It’s there. It does its job. I appreciate the adoption angle and the bad guy with a heart of gold trope not being used for romance. It’s different. I equate the minions to the mice in Cinderella. They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but they do serve a purpose in the narrative. And that’s my entire opinion of this entire franchise. Yet another entertaining solo commentary, Sam.

As long as a story isnt taking itself seriously I can take (well executed) stupid comedy. Its when its slipped into something that takes itself too seriously I have a problem. Thankfully so much family animation knows to just have fun with it. The humor in this film is often "dumb" but it is well excuted and consistent so Im good with it. Thank you for the reaction. It lifted me up during a bad night. Im glad this one could make you laugh so much.

I honestly love the first movie, even the second one. These could’ve been some real heartfelt movies but the multiple sequels/spin off’s killed everything 😬 I also find the minions adorable, the internet made them become to hated 😂

1:59 The only bright side is that kid would've been splattered on the real pyramid otherwise. 8:31 Bank of Evil (formerly Lehman Bros) 13:06 Vector's got great security....but he's also an idiot. 15:50 Clue: Who told him about the moon heist? 20:18 Sometimes gibberish, sometimes multilingual, a mix of the two. 21:39 That little unicorn that was disintegrated was probably the only toy Agnes had. Anything else will do. 21:58 No the ship and the car aren't one in the same. 22:48 Ironically this is a parent thing where if the kid is being stubborn, the parent just leaves without them or at least pretends to. 24:10 They took too long posing. 38:42 See with the piranha gun, squid launcher(which did end up working out)and pet shark, Vector could've done something the sea creature theme, cos that seems to be his thing rather than the ipod look. Everything else was probably bought by Perkins, but the sea creature stuff seems to be by his own merit. 42:00 What was Vector gonna do with the pyramid? His dad said the bank was losing money on Gru's schemes, but did this pay out? Vector hasn't tried to ransom the pyramid back or anything.(if he had used the shrink ray on it for storage then later it grows back and destroys his house, at least it would've payed off)

I love this movie. I also love the minions. I think the problem with the minions movie is there isn't enough for them to do or this huge story arc. Personally, that doesn't bother me cause they're just so darn cute that I can't stop watching them. The animation is great. Or, it's because this movie is so good that anything less than genius seems a bit of a let down? Not sure but I enjoyed it.

Honestly, the older I get the more I love/relate to the villains. 😂 As a doe-eyed stupid kid you of course root for the 'good guys', but experience and PEOPLE almost turn you into a villain yourself. 😏 Sometimes I imagine a career as an actress, on a theater stage or on tv, doesn't matter - as long as I can let out my inner evil witch (replace the 'w' with 'b', hehe). And I loooove the minions! They're hilarious and cute!

I actually like the minions in very small amount. Like Despicable Me 1 had just the right amount of minions for me. The problem for me is that they get everywhere and much bigger screen time and even their own movies. And tbh, what i liked most about the first movie was the kids. And they took a back seat in the second movie and it was disappointing.

This is one of those films that I was surprised that had such a sweet, cute story. I have never hated the Minions and like them in the 'Despicable Me' films, but I don't have any real desire to watch their film because I feel there is not enough there to make a film that would hold my interest. I think the "hate" is from them marketing the Minions so much for so long and certain people that enjoy hating on something popular.

AM I SEEING THINGS? Honestly, this movie was not exactly my cup lf tea. This one I enjoyed-ish because the Minions were not as annoying as they would become. Guess that answers your Minion question. But I thibk if they were annoying me in the mocies alone I'd handle it. But they were EVERYWHERE. I used to work at a toy store and so many minion toys being activated by kids all day long might.... Have influenced my view on them a little bit ehehe. But the oart you commented about the Minions having recreational time and being a nice work environment sounded so sweet. 🥺

Back when the movies came out I was quite annoyed by the minions. Wasn't their fault, but the huge hype around the franchise and their characters was really off-putting. Not a big fan of things that get hyped up so much, creates a weird atmosphere of you have to have seen it to belong. Usually intentionally wait weeks, months or years to watch movies and shows in my own time. Anyway, so the hype annoyed me and that's why I hated the minions. During our lockdowns I gave in and pretty much binged ALL the movie in one day or so, absolutely live them, and am a big fan of the minions now xD
