Excellent swing thoughts. I am a 12 hcp, senior and my #1 problem is back pain, hip pain. etc... Finally I have found a swing coach who demonstrates a fluid movement that helps swing through the ball rather than hitting the back of ball, regardless of the club. What a pleasure not to crush the ribs, the lower back, the knees... The natural action flow is great. Welcome back.

Good to see you back! First time I ever remembering seeing a teacher grip the club by the head and describe its swing as like a "pencil", drawing a circle, was in an old Pete Cowen video. Let the momentum do the work. Great tip.

Spent hours watching your videos after a great session on the range. This morning I played my first round of golf for 6 months, and managed to shoot 84 which is my best round for two years. My playing partner was very complimentary and I discussed your U tube channel with him. Hopefully he can get some guidance from you by watching these. I played my round basically in accordance with the advice you gave on the 3 How To Break 90 videos and it worked to a "T". Thanks Julian you have fed my appetite for the game once again.

I was led to believe for many years that your lower body should start the downswing and as a result I found my arms never really caught up. After listening to Mike Austin who said that he released the club from the top and made sure his lower body rotated I finally got the hang of it. I can see in your swing you really do the same thing. So many teachers insist on focusing on keeping the lag as long as possible when the golfswing really is , as you say , a throwing action back and forth.
@JulianMellor

Absolutely Pete, I truly believe that most coaches make the swing too difficult for amateurs to achieve and often make them go backwards

Good advice about practice with a tee. Mike Malaska world renowned teacher recommends this for all practice tee work. “Take the ground out of play.” Striking the ground in a certain spot is a skill on its own and should be practiced in isolation after you learn to swing the club in a circle.

Hello Julian, I know I have expressed my appreciation for you in the past but I have to tell you, when it finally clicked, my swing was sooooo easy and smooth it put a smile on my face, kinda giddy....WOW....I still have a hard time and am scared about it mentally...just felt way to good....Of course now I am trying to kill the ball with that swing which defeats the purpose...goes against everything I have been taught, but man oh man it felt sooooo good to feel that easyness, kinda feels like it is wrong....crazy...gonna work on it but have to break through some walls......very excited to develop your swing....Truly appreciate all you do for us...

Hi Julian. Gl;ad to see you back into things. Spent most of today watching Brian,s videos absorbing the coaching,instruction and funny wit. Shall spend most of tomorrow watching your videos when I return from the range. Both yours and Brian,s You Tube golf instruction is so easy to follow that I find this to be the only coaching I need.I,m an oldie but can still manage my game through you even though I no longer get the distance but I,m not the least bit put off by this. To hit shots long and out-of-bounds or in the trees or water does not appeal to me one bit. Keeping the ball in play is my main aim and gives me most enjoyment.Thanks for this video and for all those you have made before (tomorrows viewing). Wishing you well and keep safe., and Jo also.

With you coaching at Sports Connexion your long distance clients can book & not worry about bad weather spoiling the lesson. Will you be able to do one & or two hour individual coaching sessions to cover most of the parts of the game? Can you include a check of putting as well as shots into the screen? I hope the new venue will be good for your business. It could save clients having to stay overnight & in winter bad light would not effect your lessons. All the best, Alan.

Hi Julian. Thanks for your excellent videos. I'm a "young senior" and I've decided to switch from "hitting as hard a I can" to a healthy, fluid motion swing. Not as easy a I thought. The key factor for me is to roll over the wrists at or slightly after impact. That's what I've always seen in your swing in slow-mo. And exactly that's the most difficult part of Easiest Swing Golf (at least for me). If this does nor happen, the clubface will still be open at impact. And then the door is wide open for compensation motions (stay far behind the ball with your upper body etc.). Maybe you have a drill or good advice for me and others that help us to fix this problem. Keep up your excellent work. Your channel and support is by far the best I've seen in the digital world. Thanks a lot! Take care, Harald

Trust is a must Jerry, just imagine what your golf game will look like if you make your best swings on each ball you play, sometimes we don’t hit the shots as we want to but that doesn’t mean that your swing is broken. Great video yesterday a great old video popped up in my feed it was Bobby Jones swing it so much reminds me of the easy swing all about turning and tempo but so many points were made including don't keep eye's fixed on ball the great man was asked about moving his head to which he replied if I fix my eyes on ball how can I turn behind the ball? And he certainly turned so freely just a little complaint I've been asked twice why I'm doing the dance? Didn't realise I was doing it in supermarket queue yesterday afternoon 😂😂😂

A lovely message to receive,if your in doubt about the Easiest Swing then read this Julian, I have never sent an email like this before but I wanted to thank you. I am 50 years old and have been playing golf since I was 23. I was awful when I started an after much trial and error any many years I was able to get my my handicap down to 10. I have never been consistent and I have read numerous golf books and have accumulated a library of golf instruction manuals. I have read years worth of golf magazines and have basically taught myself to play through a mismatch of information. I have always been able to play well in spurts and have occasionally shot in the 70’s. It never fails that just when I think I know what I am doing my game falls apart horribly in. I start hooking and shanking and lose my confidence. Invariably I watch many conflicting videos on the internet and become more confused. This occurred again recently when I happened across one of your videos about la danse du golf. It just seemed to click. I went to the range and hit some very good shots. I played nine holes on two occasions since then and shot 40 each time but easily should have shot in the 30’s if my short game was a little better. I hit several 300 yard drives. Granted the fairways were extremely baked out but the strikes were in the center of the club face and my swing was smooth and rhythmic. My effort level was much less than when I would typically lunge at the ball from the top of my swing and hit it on the heel. I hit the ball so well the second nine that I played. My ball flight was dead straight with every club and I was hitting it higher with my irons but slightly longer than normal. The ball was sizzling off the club. I typically carry my driver around 215 to 220 yards but I am sure I was carrying it 20 to 25 yards longer. During those two nine hole rounds I hit several of the longest drives that I ever hit on a particular hole. These are the same courses I played in my 20’s and 30’s. It was totally amazing. There was none of the clutter in my brain that is typically there and my confidence has continued to grow and grow. I typically hook my fairway woods so badly that I can hardly get them airborne but I have hit three fairway wood shots to the fringe on par 5’s. I was playing golf not playing golf swing positions. I truly can’t thank you and Brian Sparks enough for your simple, but most effective method of swinging the golf club. I will never watch a golf instructional video from anyone else again! I find myself doing la danse du golf repeatedly throughout the day. I know this is a long message but I have experienced a golf epiphany due to your method. Keep up the great work. Cheers! I’ve been watching your videos and I have started having success with my irons so thank you very much. One question i have is that a big difference in my swing before “easiest swing” is that my right elbow is tucked closer to my right side and lower at the top of the swing. I find that if I focus on this as a swing thought my swing is smooth, and I maintain a better swing path. Am I crazy or is that sort of right arm technique good to have?
@JulianMellor
@JulianMellor 4 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t sound crazy to me as long as it’s not tucked in too tight

Hi Julian, great video again. I know that you don't like talking about positions in the swing but it appears that halfway on the backswing the club head points to the sky and not slightly closed or shut. In other words, it seems like the left forearm/hands slightly rotate to the right going back. Is this a conscious move?
@JulianMellor
@JulianMellor 4 жыл бұрын
Hi David, thanks for your message, I would agree with you and for me now it’s a totally natural movement but it didn’t used to be, I took it back closed before and found that I had to be very aggressive with my turn through impact which put way too much pressure on my lower back and left knee, thankfully I don’t have any of these issues any more,

What is the trigger that starts your swing? Shifting your weight? Turning? It looks in other videos that you have a slight forward press with your hands that seems to be the very first movement.
@JulianMellor
@JulianMellor 4 жыл бұрын
I have a natural forward press that helps , I would say don’t over think it, but can start from the ground up if you really wanted to think about it, most do it from the top down which I would avoid if I were you

That’s not fun, I love the feeling of 1, that is the journey of the club head from the top of the back swing through to a complete finish feels like one flowing motion and the ball gets in the way, trying to segment different parts of the body is often what causes the yip feeling
