I don't feel warm up range balls help for guys that don't regularly go to the range (me, Adam, Matty boom boom :-). Fine if you have a routine and have time for it. Rushing range balls is worse than running to first tee for me. Suggestion is to focus on where you want to hit and play for easiest bogey possible...use extra club and swing easy until loose...often leads to good starts by staying out of trouble.

@NotAScratchGolfer3 ай бұрын
In a tournament, you play it out and write down your score. For the purposes of handicapping, the max score you can take is a "net double." So as a 7 handicap, I can take a triple on stroke holes 1-7 (that's a "net double"), and a double on stroke holes 8-18. The thinking is that one blow up hole shouldn't affect your handicap to an inordinate degree.
@EldredMerricks3 ай бұрын
Didn’t know about that triple bogey rule just thought it was something the guys I play with made up😂😂😂
@NotAScratchGolfer3 ай бұрын
Obviously in a tournament you count 'em all. For handicapping purposes, the max you can take is a "net double." So, for example, if you are a 5 handicap, on stroke holes 1-5, you can take a triple, and on stroke holes 6-18, you can only take a double.
@wess.91933 ай бұрын
Wait, what?!? Max is triple?! With two balls in the water? I have been doing it all wrong. Lol I get triples with no water! Lol
@NotAScratchGolfer3 ай бұрын
Lol. The max you can take on a hole for handicapping purposes is a "net double," so double on the holes you are not entitled to strokes on, and triple on holes where you are given a stroke. So, for example, if your course handicap is 5, on stroke holes 1-5, you can take a triple. On stroke holes 6-18, the max you can take is a double.

yooo Adam- hdcp question. On the first hole, you took a triple 7 on a par 4. According to the handicap system, wouldn't you have taken a double bogey as handicap 0-9 has a max score of double bogey? I'm just curious for my own scoring because my handicap is mid 20's still which would have a max 8 (i.e. could take 5 over on a par 3, 4 over on a par 4, or triple on a par 5 as max score). The score you took would insinuate a handicap in 10-19, which I don't think you are? Thanks!

Angry golf. Uhhhhh! That's me! Me and the Hulk have one thing in common...always angry! On the golf course anyway. Just seething underneath, mad at myself for making mistakes with things I know I can do better with. Even sometimes when I'm playing pretty well. That front nine 37 should have been a 35, missed 2 putts I almost always make. Grrrrr I'm angry! When in reality I should be grinning ear to ear with that 37. I've made a concerted effort to do better this year with that aspect of my game. I have done better, but still not where I need to be with it. I know it hurts my play more than anything in the long run.
