Great video...I have a Milwaukee 5347 1-1/2" rotary hammer...that i just can't find the point or flat chisels...I invent try the company of Milwaukee and they told me they don't make them anymore...I try e-bay and amazon and home depot and they only told me they got for newer model...can you help me out on what to do with this old time... is there an adapter for this model????

Have you ever seen an adapter to allow SDS MAX bits to be used in a SDS-Plus tool? I have a lot of nice SDS-MAX chisel bits that I would like to use in my SDS-Plus tool but haven't found an adapter. BTW... I've been wondering why I haven't seen any videos from you and just tonight I realized that KZbin mysteriously unsubscribed me from your channel.

Hitachi was making one year ago, it as a sds Mak coupler on both side and they made various shank one of which was a sds max on one side and sds plus on the other

I have found there are also adapters for SDS plus to 3 jaw standard chuck. What I haven't been able to find is a SDS MAX to 3 jaw adapter. I don't want to stack 2 adapters on a SDS MAX to be able to use standard bits for heavy wood drilling. Does anyone have helpful info?

Any issues with using the smaller SDS Plus bits (3/16-1/2") in an SDS Max tool with the adapter? I don't want to buy two rotary hammers if I can get away with just a Max but I'm worried that the higher impact a Max Hammer delivers will bend/damage the smaller SDS Plus bits.

@@jamesbolotenko3460 I ended up getting the largest 20V Dewalt SDS Plus Rotary Hammer and I've been very pleased with it. The SDS max drills obviously hit much harder but also turn significantly slower so from what I can tell they are actually slower with smaller drill bits. But with larger diameter drill bits and core bits the slower rotation gives the correct linear velocity while the heavier hammer is distributed over a larger surface area of the bit face. I think it really is about sizing the correct tool to the bit. I rarely drill larger than 3/4" so I think the SDS Plus gives better performance in that application than the SDS Max hammers would. I can break concrete with the SDS Plus drill I have (again the largest 20V one Dewalt makes) with a 3/4 chisel. It kinda slow but it works.

Bosch provides a little with the kit. It looked like regular grease to me.

It depends what job you need to do. SDS max are more heavy-duty, but they are heavier and more expensive.

The only problem with using these adapters is that you lose a LOT of impact and ADD a lot more time to the drilling process because of more movement. They may be OK in a pinch, but not as an every day option. Most heavy construction companies won't allow them anyway.
