Great Video. I'd recommend wiring the hot lead to a circuit which is only powered by 12VDC when the key / button is in the on position. This way if your car is parked in your driveway a thief can't break a window and press the button to open your garage door and make their way into your home.

Very Helpful video. I'd recommend wiring the hot lead to a normally off 12VDC circuit that only powers on when the key / button is on the on position. Wiring this way HomeLink is ONLY activated with the owners key. Prevents someone from breaking a your car window while parked in your driveway and just press the HomeLink button when hard wired to constant 12VDC battery power.
