Excellent video. My question is, what do I do about a financed company vehicle? Say it costs $100K after taxes, but I financed 75% of the value. Do I put the absolute total value of everything in the Vehicles -> "Truck" category, or do I need to account for the finance charges in another account? Thank you!

I made a journal entry for the purchase of the fixed asset which is partly through financing, indicating the amount of loan,the loan down payment for the asset and the asset price. I wouldn't recommend that... You can add bills for you month payment. Not for the original purchase. Candus

How does this work with making normal monthly payments for my vehicle? Am I to guess it has nothing to do with my monthly payments?

This example is for depreciation only and has nothing to do with normal monthly payments. For that you will need to set up a loan account and amortize the loan, and simultaneously record interest expense.

i believe if you cant sum up those cost of the vehicle, then create additional accumulated depreciation for those asset
