I love the mittens, saw the finished result and I'd say you both won. However it was changed to yellow. I really appreciate the instructions you give, they are clear. I like also that you don't tell people they have to do it your way, making things is all about the makers vision. As you say the instructions are a guide to help make and add to the finished product. Aaaah, I love this, it’s like coloring between the lines with crayons in a coloring book. You could always change the colors later on if you don’t wash the mittens, they would be felted together. I see Freya on Carlos’ lap? Whose mittens are they? That’s the winner.

The mitten pattern is amazing. I love the stained glass effect with added pops of color. I agree with Carlos about the blue. Also, after the tutorial for the twisted knit stitch I had to cast on a pair of socks using this stitch. I recognized it right away on the mittens. The stitch looks lovely and has become my favorite way to work ribbing.

Your mittens remind me of Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass windows. I predict you will fill in the entire blue areas on the mittens for that reason. It would look stained glass-like. With or without color the mittens are beautiful

On screen, the blue didn’t contrast enough against the black or navy in the mitten, maybe a brighter or lighter blue would be my preference, but I realize the blue used may have been brighter than how it appeared. I loved the idea of the blue diamond there, so it will be fun to see how the mitten turned out. I know it will end up perfect! Cheers!
