Thanks for this! I have long super thick wavy/curly hair and I never wear hats because they wreck my hair. I'm in Scotland so it'd be nice to be cosy! I crochet but I don't really sew so went looking for a tutorial and found this. I'll have to hand sew it but it gives me a clue where to start.

Lol 😆I was laughing 😅 but you did great. You can cut out the rectangle then fold it in the middle before shaping the curve that way it will mirror each other and be the same. OR cut one side and then fold over to cut the other side. The cap is gorgeous 😍

do you think it would work to simply hold a sheet of satin around one's head (with extra for stretch and seam allowance), and like cut that piece (basically a giant circle) out and sew that into the hat?? Asking bc i dont have a serger or a sewing machine

@@YeleStitches Finally went through with sewing the lining into a beanie! It seems to have created a bit of puckering on the stretchy beanie fabric though. Do you have any tips to help prevent that?

@@YeleStitches Yeah I wish I could post a photo here but its kind of bunching up a lot of the beanie around it. I think I'm going to rip it out and try an even longer stitch length, so that its not grabbing into the beanie as often, if that makes sense? Anyways, learning!

Sorry I didn’t understand how you got the measurements for the bottom !?!? Couldn’t see the bottom of the screen
@YeleStitches
@YeleStitches 2 жыл бұрын
Ok for the bottom. It’s the circumference of your head divided by two, then add one inch for allowance. You can also just use 13”. Remember the fabric is on fold, that would make it a total of 26”.
