HOW TO: DIY Satin-lined Cap + Why You Should Line Your Caps & Hats | Mirage Productions

As I re-embark on my #healthyhairjourney, I wanted to share with you the importance of lining your caps with satin. It's super effective in protecting your kinky/curly hair and your hairstyle. I especially need to do it because I have #4b4chair which is a bit more fragile. I also wanted to share with you how I personally go about doing it whilst also shedding some light on the relief efforts taking place in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines following the recent eruption of the #LaSoufriereVolcano. The Carnival Mas Band, #MirageProductions, as well as others have been doing an incredible job in assisting those affected. This video is also my way I telling them thank you for their hard work. Hi, won’t glue become sticky when it’s hot weather etc?

I live in the Caribbean where the climate is tropical all year round and I haven't yet experienced any melting of the glue. If you think it might be a concern for you, then you can stitch the fabric into the hat instead.

I live in the south of USA and hot glue will melt in 100°+ weather. Unless you are going to be out in that for an extended period of time, it shouldn't be an issue. Or use fabric glue or sew.

You'll find satin at any fabric store near you. I live in St. Vincent (Caribbean) so mine was bought at Edwin D. Layne & Sons Ltd. located on the same island. ❤️

I don't have luck with using hot glue. It never sticks!!

Really? It would not stick smooth surfaces as there isn't anything for the glue to grip on to but it'll definitely stick your cap.

Hi. Thanks for watching. I really didn't measure the fabric but you can use a dinner plate as a guide and cut about 2-4 inches away from it all around. That's what I did. ❤

Mine has so I'll say yes. Maybe overtime, the glue will loosen in which case you can always glue it again.
