In this video we add the end cabinet from harbor freight to the 5 drawer tool cart. This is a popular mod for the tool cart. The end cabinet has a part number of 64971, 64448, 64447, 64358, 64159, 64450, 64449, 64973,and 64972. The 5 drawer tool cart has a part number of 56429, 64061, 64060, 64059, 64031, 64030, 64032, 64033, 64721, 56237, 64720, 56239, 64722, 56238.
#Harborfreightprojects
The goal was to make the ultimate tool cart. We also add a jack holder to the other side of the cart. This thing is a beast now.

I REALLY like your idea with this to expand the storage capacity of the tool cart. I WILL definitely do this side cabinet mod to mine as well. Thanks! Also, food for thought, in my 22 years as an Air Force heavy equipment mechanic (mobility/deployments) we used to bolt the top and bottom toolboxes together by removing the drawers as needed for access and drill a couple holes and use bolts, fender washers and nuts to tie both together for better stability. You could do same by bolting through the corners and with spacers for empty space on sides on cart, along with casters that everyone has already suggested. Since you keep cart strapped inside trailer, this would prevent the side cabinet from possibly coming off IF you hit big enough bump or pothole then open trailer to find cabinet and tools off all over trailer.

Just picked up one of these carts for racing superbikes. My cart will be travel to the race track in a trailer. You mentioned that yours travels in a trailer. How do you strap your cart down in the trailer? I assume you use ratchet straps, but how do you strap it in. With my current cart, I use “D” hooks on the floor and strap the hooks around the square steel tube of the Bluepoint cart frame. The HF cart frame doesn’t seem sturdy enough to handle being hooked and strapped. I was thinking of doing E-track on the trailer wall and strapping around the cart to the wall. Just wondering what solution you came up with. Thanks in advance. JohnV.

Retrogamer1010 for me it’s being able to store stuff underneath the box. Have the jackstands and other bigger items there is really nice. I normally have my cart in my trailer. It’s geared towards my racecar. But I agree if you don’t move it around much and have a lot of tools a box is the way to go. It’s more economical to get a decent size box than my set up.

I’ve done this with my harbor freight box just didn’t put the jack on it lol. But once it’s filled up it gets pretty heavy to push around to add a jack that’s gotta get heavy. And idk about lifting the jack up and down after a few times I’d just leave it off.

@BringItMuscleCars

Hanna Say Go it’s sticking out. It’s thicker than the cart. It hasn’t to stick out the front or the back. Mine is strapped into the trailer most of the time so I choose to have the front out further.

be trick if you could get onto a carla cargo type trailers, but retro fit for your tool box. They run around with giant fed ex deliveries in NYC. Narrow low profile trailer goes on back of an e-bike or anything with ball hitch (I pull something similar I made with my mower around property to bring tools to machines. Could drive that baby right over to the car out on the track ;-). Thanks for sharing.

What about adding the tool tray to the other side, and making it flip up on top of the lid of the cart. Then you can still use the pull handle, and have the cart tray work surface. Drop the handle lower, and install a flip hinge, and braces? Just thinking in my head

I actually built this to go in my car trailer. So I wanted it to sit flush against the wall. Otherwise I would have flushed the front. If you did that then mount the power strip in the back. You could drill a hole to run the cables through to charge stuff with the lid down.

It's too much rolling around a factory. Unless you reinforce it really well the bolts will start to try to pull out of it mainly it seems to be the expansion joints they put in the floor. I've seen it happen on at least 3 of them now. Unless it just sits in one spot I'd suggest skipping adding any big locker or drawers on the end. If you still have to do it, IMHO best thing to do is get some angle iron and build a frame for it to sit on. Then move the casters out to all 4 corners.

Just wondering why you didn't fab up a frame to go under them both so you could upgrade the casters the ones on the cart do not hold up when over loaded and pushing it around they will last for awhile just my thoughts plus with the cars behind you you should have all the tools to fab it up easily
@BringItMuscleCars
@BringItMuscleCars 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Cross I’ve seen people make a frame for the bottom. It’s possible that I might do that. I’ve been looking at bigger “off road” casters to make it easier to move around at the track if I need to. For the most part it sits still in the trailer. I don’t do the fab work on the race car. I leave that to pros. When you’re doing 155-165 you don’t want anything to go wrong.
