In this video we add the end cabinet from harbor freight to the 5 drawer tool cart. This is a popular mod for the tool cart. The end cabinet has a part number of 64971, 64448, 64447, 64358, 64159, 64450, 64449, 64973,and 64972. The 5 drawer tool cart has a part number of 56429, 64061, 64060, 64059, 64031, 64030, 64032, 64033, 64721, 56237, 64720, 56239, 64722, 56238.
#Harborfreightprojects
The goal was to make the ultimate tool cart. We also add a jack holder to the other side of the cart. This thing is a beast now.

I REALLY like your idea with this to expand the storage capacity of the tool cart. I WILL definitely do this side cabinet mod to mine as well. Thanks! Also, food for thought, in my 22 years as an Air Force heavy equipment mechanic (mobility/deployments) we used to bolt the top and bottom toolboxes together by removing the drawers as needed for access and drill a couple holes and use bolts, fender washers and nuts to tie both together for better stability. You could do same by bolting through the corners and with spacers for empty space on sides on cart, along with casters that everyone has already suggested. Since you keep cart strapped inside trailer, this would prevent the side cabinet from possibly coming off IF you hit big enough bump or pothole then open trailer to find cabinet and tools off all over trailer.

Kenneth Burns 👍 and you can use the chock(s) for increased safety when using the jack to get the vehicle up on the jack stands. Parking brake or having transmission in gear works when lifting the front end with rear wheels on the ground, but chocks needed for the front tires (which have no parking brake) when lifting up the rear end.

if you mounted the side box flush to the front the power strip could be put on the back unless you need to set the tool box flat to a wall idk just thinkin
@BringItMuscleCars

I actually built this to go in my car trailer. So I wanted it to sit flush against the wall. Otherwise I would have flushed the front. If you did that then mount the power strip in the back. You could drill a hole to run the cables through to charge stuff with the lid down.

This is my first time watching your channel. I'm wondering with the type of work you do, the bada$$ Pony in the back ground that you would even bother with HF. I see you have Kobalt and Husky as well. I'm not judging at all. I think that is genius how you set that up. It obviously wouldn't take a genius to figure that the cabinet will need casters. That's a given, I wonder if the structure of the cart it's self will be able to with stand the weight of all the tools. Sitting in one place would be okay but once it goes into motion, weight shifting, if that maybe cause a big issue? Definitely liked your video!

dmckimmey1 cheaper tools work nearly as good as really expensive ones. I need to save money on the tools to help mod the Shelby. Only so much to around. Why spend $100 on a tool when a $20 tool works just as well. That’s enough to buy race gas and a hotdog at the track. The cabinet may need wheels. For the most part it’s strapped into the car trailer.

@@BringItMuscleCars I'm the same way with my tools. My cart and most of my sockets, ratchets, my jack and stands, etc are all harbor freight. But anything powered such as my 18v/12v impacts, drivers, electric ratchets are all milwakee.

Shan s I have a Milwaukee ratchet which is awesome. Then my 1/2” impact is Kobalt. That thing has been a beast. No complaints on that. I’ve never used the harbor freight electric tools. Not sure I will at this point.

@@BringItMuscleCars the only thing electric I have from them is the plug in angle grinder which I've had for years and works fine. A close friend of mine started using their new cordless 1/2" impact recently and it's been good to him. However it is larger and not as powerful as my milwakee mid torque. I've had to come break a few crank pulley bolts for him.

be trick if you could get onto a carla cargo type trailers, but retro fit for your tool box. They run around with giant fed ex deliveries in NYC. Narrow low profile trailer goes on back of an e-bike or anything with ball hitch (I pull something similar I made with my mower around property to bring tools to machines. Could drive that baby right over to the car out on the track ;-). Thanks for sharing.

Just picked up one of these carts for racing superbikes. My cart will be travel to the race track in a trailer. You mentioned that yours travels in a trailer. How do you strap your cart down in the trailer? I assume you use ratchet straps, but how do you strap it in. With my current cart, I use “D” hooks on the floor and strap the hooks around the square steel tube of the Bluepoint cart frame. The HF cart frame doesn’t seem sturdy enough to handle being hooked and strapped. I was thinking of doing E-track on the trailer wall and strapping around the cart to the wall. Just wondering what solution you came up with. Thanks in advance. JohnV.

I have two D rings on the wall I strap it to. It runs across the drawer and I have to slide the strap up and down. I haven’t had a problem with it moving or loosing up.
@gecko6952
@gecko6952 3 жыл бұрын
@@BringItMuscleCars Thank you for the reply. Do you still do that even with the extra add on box that hangs from the right side of the cart side? I guess the bumper guards, placed properly, can serve as a protector from any rash caused by the straps going across the front of the cart. JohnV.
@BringItMuscleCars

@@gecko6952 I still do. The strap did wear some of the paint though. It’s not the best layout overall because it’s a lot harder to load and unload from the trailer.
