Instagram is blocking my videos when I am using MY OWN MUSIC. Music that I OWN. Music of which I am the sole publisher. Music I have recorded. The music is me. That's odd, but I'm sure social media services tend to err on the side of caution. Trying to get in touch with someone for a problem like this can be a daunting experience. I imagine I'd contact support and do the best you can. I'm sure you have already.

If the background music is appropriate to the topic you're presenting to your audience, then, Yes, music definitely adds to the attraction...even for a short video clip. It's like having the perfect soundtrack behind a movie scene. Music pulls at the heart strings of your audience...you reach them on an emotional level. Very primal. 👍💕😊

This is easy, sort of. If you have a series of photos and you want to put music on them, it will have to be a video. on the Instagram news feed. So let's say you have 3 photos and you want music on them. Make all three a one minute video with 20 second given to each picture, or do 3 videos with all three pics getting a full 60 seconds. The first way of doing it will allow the music to play seamlessly as people view the photos. The second way of doing it would make the music choppy if people don't watch the full 60 seconds before scrolling to the next video. Make sense?

Champ Swarupa 94 when you have a photo you’ll see 5 buttons at the top right of the screen. click the middle one and it will come up with a bunch of stuff, click MUSIC and you’ll be able to have music on it

Um Just in case you do use video shop and you dont want a water mark what I usually do is add any video on my phone then I make my actuall video and I crop off the extra video that I added at the beginning and now its gone

Todd, great video here and I subscribed and clicked the bell. My Question: is there a preferred music file format, i.e. .m4a, .wav, .aiff. I write and produce my own music and I sync it up with my iTunes account but when I look for one of my solely owned piece of music via VideoShop / iTunes I do not see any of my songs and I am thinking that it is the format I am using for the which is .mp3? Let me know your thoughts

Jim, thanks for watching and for the follow-up. As for music file type - that I do not know. All of my music is iTunes / Napster from BITD and I think it's all .mp3. If it's in your iTunes directory it should be showing up in VideoShop. But it wouldn't hurt to try some other file types if the .mp3 isn't working. But I bet something else is going on between VideoShop and iTunes rather than it being the file type giving you problems.

You can’t. To avoid the glitch or any glitches you film outside IG and add your music, then use an app like CutStory to cut the segments into 15 seconds and upload them in. Sounds troublesome but it’s easy to do and allows the music to play seamlessly

​@@ToddLIVE Thanks for getting back to me. In Videoshop I assemble the video (about 80 secs) using 3 or 4 short clips, also in Videoshop I add the music which plays across the whole thing - . I save to camera roll & open in Cut Story, hit the instagram option which produces the 15 sec clips & puts them back in camera roll. But when I upload these clips to Instagram stories the music still glitches between clips. Am I doing something wrong?

Simon: It's the nature of stories - you would have to have the ability to upload an 80 second video for it to play straight without that built-in segment marker that seems like a glitch. That's something you have to live with, I'm afraid.
