I was struggling to change the quality of uploads today but all you have to do is settings & privacy, scroll to the very bottom & select “Data usage & media quality” and done! Thanks girl!!

Thanks so much Jade, always great information! Can I just double check though, you mention Instagram allows 4k uploading? But all the info I've seen is that Instagram does not allow 4k uploading, it's maximum is 1080p ie: HD. Seems to be best to film in 4k for the quality but Insta will compress it to 1080p (or export it as 1080p after editing) x

Agree Bridgit, I can never upload a 4k video. It literally tells me it doesn't support the video

Hey Bridgit! I actually got the 4k tip directly from Facebook, however I have seen a few people mention that they struggle to upload in 4k so it may be device/ app version specific (we all have different versions of the app depending on our location & other factors). It's a shame, but worth keeping an eye out to see if you're able to upload 4k in the future!

I can't change the high quality setting. It says Wi-Fi only and it's greyed out.

You need to toggle "Data saver" first, then you can access and change "Wi-Fi only" to "Wi-Fi and Cellular" and then you can untoggle the "Data saver" back.
