After watching a few vids from RedRockat &3ft deep I removed the pump housing on my 08 215 RXP. The original impeller looked like it had sucked a bag of 6" roofing nails thru it at full throttle!! Mess does not come close to describing the carnage of the wear ring , impeller and pump casing vanes!! (How it performed as well as it did albeit lots of cavitation is a mystery!) Any hoo after a replacement wear ring (ref 3ft vids) this one (in my case to restore leading/trailing pitch) plus a few hours re profiling the bent and damaged leading edges on the impeller - hey presto it's like a totally different PWC!! Much better acceleration and top speed , no horrible noise when flushing (refer impeller bearing replacement vids) and a very happy albeit tired me!! Thanks guys - keep up the good work. PS and yes I have ordered a Solas replacement but for now the recond original is much much better than how it was!

Seems like bending that by hand without a dial indicator or something seems like you could end up with a vibration, no? I realize it's more money but isn't the best way to get a new impeller?
@3ftDeepChannel9 жыл бұрын
nike12000 Actually, for the cost of shipping and about $80 bucks, Impros will adjust the pitch and make it like new. We didn't have the 4+ weeks to wait for the turnaround, and besides it's a lot more fun when you're screwing around with things you shouldn't be. At the end of the day it did make a difference (1 or 2 mph), and no extra vibration detected. Thanks for your comment.

I have the 14/19 on a seadoo 215 with x charger and 42 injectors... runs great but I always hit the rev limit and it’s like advanced cavitation any advice..? I already pitched the pros
@3ftDeepChannel5 жыл бұрын
Cavitation could be wear ring or carbon seal related, if hitting the rev limiter at full throttle. Check those, especially the wear ring. The impeller may also need more pitch to pull the rpms down and give more thrust, but more likely one of the other two possible issues. Good luck!

Doing it like you did, is that "added" pitch or other way around?
@3ftDeepChannel3 жыл бұрын
We increased the pitch so that the impeller pushes more water. When you have excess power available you can "ask more" of your propulsion system by making it push more water out of the jet. More water out of the jet pump means faster machine (at least in theory). Thanks for your comment.

I have a 2007 155 na with a 11/19 recommended Solaris impeller. I noticed WOT i only see 6700 rpm. What i did find was topics on repitching the impeller to allow more RPM. Is this correct? My only other thought was it was a rental possible and turned down to a certain rpm but i can see 7500 out of the water on a garden hose. No its its not on a rental or learning key that i know of. I do know the speed spinner is broken. No speed shows but i don't think that plays into it. I did install new plugs when i got it. No service codes. Not sure what to try. Bought it with a bad wear ring so i don't know how it was previously. Only paid 1k for it with 77 hours.
@3ftDeepChannel5 жыл бұрын
You should see over 6700 RPM on the water. It’s hard to say what the issue is, but I would suggest running for stock OEM impeller. If you can pick up a used one that would be the best next step, in my opinion. You should also pull your pump and check the grease inside and make sure the oil seal is still good and no water is getting in. There could also be some worn parts in your pump that are limiting your RPMs. Good luck.
@Hiperf5 жыл бұрын
@@3ftDeepChannel I have had the pump off and the grease looks great year after year. I changed it last spring also. Bearing feels good. New wear ring with no cavitation. Ski runs great. Good hole shot just can't seem to see over that 6600-6700. Perfect no wind glass conditions it might hit 6750. Bought the ski with a broken wear ring actually spinning so i don't have anything to compare too. Specs on pump and wear ring to impeller are good. Nothing out of wack there.

Awesome video ,how did the ski perform after re pitching ?
@3ftDeepChannel8 жыл бұрын
We gained 1 or 2 mph. The key is that it's only useful if you have more power that the steeper pitch of the impeller can work with. We got more power by adding the intercooler. Without adding the intercooler to get more power, increasing the pitch will only make the impeller work sub-optimally, and you may lose performance at certain speeds.

What about a cavitation after this "tuning"? I think the impeller don't like this.
@3ftDeepChannel7 жыл бұрын
That can happen, but the main issue can be increasing the pitch too much so that you can't reach the maximum RPMs. You've got to go in small increments to make sure that doesn't happen. The "tuning" should only happen when you've increased the power of your machine (e.g. added an intercooler), and you can now afford to create more resistance for the impeller to give more thrust.

If that was true, model jet turbines spinning upwards of 200,000 rpm would need to be balanced within 1/1,000,000 of a gram. I have made my own marine jet impellers which run at 6,000 rpm and not balanced them at all, with no noticeable vibration at all.
