Wondering how to get your gear lever off past the foot peg? Well, check out this video. I'll show you how I did it. It's not as hard as I thought.
For full details on removing the gear lever, take a look at our man Warro's video. Way more comprehensive than mine. ‪@ridewithwarro‬ - • 2022 Royal Enfield Cla...

I picked up my Classic 350 in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, to ride it back home to Atlanta Georgia USA, about 550 miles. I got on the bike and immediately asked the mechanic to move the gear shifter up and was told it wasn't possible. I rode it 300 miles around New Orleans, did the first service at a friend’s house, and rode it 550 miles home. Wish I had seen this earlier. I've uploaded couple videos if you're interested. I am new at this so, keep that in mind.

Brilliant. Just got the bike yesterday and can't get my boot under the lever. Thought it would be the usual easy job, but ----- NO! Just like you, I could hardly believe it when I discovered the 'blockage'. Anyway - thanks for the easy fix.

Hi, I just followed your instruction after having seen Warro‘s video. Can only say that it worked out smoothly. I didn’t have to remove the frame bolt. It’s quite easy to move down the footrest sufficiently with your foot if you get a grip on the bike for your hand to pull in the opposite direction (i.e. upwards). Thanks a lot!!

I'm surprised this isn't more of a widespread issue/complaint. I took one out for a testride and figured it must've been installed incorrectly. Finally purchased one and found the same "issue" -- so thanks for the video, I've changed mine now and as you said: GAME CHANGER.

Maybe they have smaller feet in India or ride in flip flops. My size none (45) boots won't go near to slipping under.

I adjusted mine when i first got my bike and never had an issue with it touching the frame. It just came off easily and its much better to change gears with it adjusted up 1 notch. Keep up the great work with the videos :)

Hellooo, strangely, when I went to adjust mine, I pulled it so far along the shaft then tilted it upwards slightly and it just slipped off really easily. I don't think anyone at the dealers had whacked the footpeg with sledgehammer to bend it out the way 😂 I guess I just got lucky. A game changer for sure though adjusting the lever 👍

I think the manufacturing tolerances may not be all they might be, hence your lever slipped off and mine came up against the foot peg support. :)))

Yep, I adjusted mine up one notch but undid the front bolt too and took it right out. The job then becomes so much easier because you don`t need to stand on the footrest to remove the gear lever. In the end though, I ordered a heel / toe shifter and I would never go back. I`ve kept it for when I sell it.

@@RidingTheGoblin Yes, a great improvement to the original gear lever and you can still use it as a toe only, if you prefer not to use the heel part but I found it easy to adapt. They fit them to the Meteor, I believe.

My son bought one of these last year, I rode it home and had a real hard time with the shifting. I bought a meteor and had the same issue. Do they ride with flip-flops in India? The funny thing is that I adjusted mine and then when it was in the shop for service they put it back in the original position.

Yep. Mine just.....barely goes on and off the way it was from factory. Try to adjust it up, or down and the peg bar is in the way. Best bet would be to take it of and put the grinder to it. Only problem then it will eventually rust and look like shit. Best bet is to get a factory spec toe and heal shifter. Caution: i tried one from Amazon, it was way to wide to fit on the shaft with the peg bar so damn close. If you get one be sure to get one from Enfield, most others will not clear the peg bar. The engineers really missed the boat on this! Three centimeters, and problem fixed....🙄🙄🙄👎
