How to Adjust Your Parking Brake BRZ

In this quick video we'll be adjusting the drums for our handbrake on my 2014 BRZ, I probably should have merged this video with my drift button install because it's super quick.
Make sure your shoes on your drums aren't dragging after you've adjusted your handbrake. Drive around with your windows down and listen, if it sounds like nothing is rubbing you're good to go!

Just did a 2016 FR-S and it was the same on both sides - up for tighten down to loosen

I’ve done and tested. 4 clicks down is too tight. Its still stretching the wheels. Car doesn’t go smooth. End up 8 clicks down is the best for my 86. Pull up E brake just right with 5 - 6 clicks. So I think it’s really depends on your brake ‘s condition. Don’t do 4 clicks blandly. U need to test and adjust the right clicks for ur own car.

I could see that the number could depend on the wear on the shoes and stretch in the cable; that's probably accurate.

@@f86tune48 just test it after you install. There isn’t a set number for thousands of brake brands and combination.

Buddy do you know how to fix handbrake can not be released? Especially in Winter.

There are cable oiler tools or you can use an end of a plastic bag to help push lubricant through the cable sheath. If this doesn't work you may need to replace it.

After I adjusted the shoes with the bottom adjuster, I still move forward in gear, and on top of that I clear a click now. Could warped inner rotors be the culprit or is my e brake busted. Note: I left the brake on for a while on the freeway. They could have over heated but even that would not explain the click could it?

Depends, you may need a new set of drum shoes and rotor; I would pull the rotor off and inspect for damage.

Mark Methods turns out e brakes are just trash and can’t half rear tires going 20mph. But can decently brake still car.
