I injected myself for the first time last night using these steps but when finished I looked to the transparent part where the liquid is in and it doesn't seem to be missing any liquid, it looks totally full. Only prime a new pen the first time you use it. Not needed after that until you start a new pen. Hope this helps.

I think it would depend on what your ambient temperature is in your house, though. If it's pretty warm, you probably want to keep it in the fridge.

I heard you with no problem. Very good explanation was wondering about the side effect of raised heart beats. My BPM has raised from 70’s to 80’s and sometimes 90’s three days after injecting the dosage of .025. It drops down if i don’t take it for a while.

Hi Glenis, raised heart rate is not a common side effect but the amount raised does not seem too significant. If no symptoms could try another injection and see if it happens again. As usual however advice would be to check with your doctor to get a proper assessment! Thanks for watching!

@@drkiddMD I have been taking it for 5 weeks now,and still the same response every third day.. Getting tired of it as it keeps me awake and edgy. I think if it didn’t give me palpitations i would love it.Have spoken to my doctor and she isnt concerned either. However the way it makes me feel is not good.The side effects list does state that you can get raised heart beats,but two to three beats more than normal,but mine are 10 to 20 times more. I was just wondering if anybody else watching had this side effect.?

Same here. So far, I have yet to inject myself, I hate needles. The directions in the box are complicated, and I was only able to use this type of drug because I wasn't stabbing myself. Also, doctors can miss me with the " off label " use that I heard over cov19 treatments, I can't get monjaro(whatever) or even truicity( whatever) ? This better not be because of fatsos using the drug.

When you stop the Saxenda I would probably start on the recommended starting regimen for Ozempic of 0.25mg weekly for 1 month and increase if needed and no side effects

I wanted to update my journey with Ozempic. I started in August and had lost 12 lbs. by December and my A1C is 7.2. Before Ozempic, it was 11.2. I can't say it's been easy. I have had severe intestinal problems, i.e., nausea, diarrhea, constipation. I have not reached the highest dose because of these problems. I'm currently taking just .5. I haven't taken it for about 6 weeks and have gained back almost all the weight I had lost. To say I'm discouraged would be an understatement. Should I consult with my physician? She already knows about my side effects and told me to stay on the. 5 dose. I'm sure my blood sugar has gone up in the last 6 weeks, but the side effects are literally miserable. Dr. Kidd, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Sassy68, firstly excellent job on bringing your Hba1c from 11.2 to 7.2 that is an amazing effort and will have alrrady given you great health benefits. As usual have to preface by saying cannot give advice over the internet and its good that you consistently check in with your physician for advice. One you can consider is did you have the same side effects on 0.25mg? If not or less so and you were still lowering Hba1c and losing weight (which it looks like you were) then maybe 0.25mg is all you need. I have many patients that 0.25mg is their maintenance dose because that dose is already really strong for them and giving them the benefit they need.

Before its opened it needs to be kept refrigeratored between 2 and 8 degrees. Once it is open it can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator (again between 2 to 8 degrees) for up to 6 weeks. Hope that helps!

The timing in relationship to eating does not matter can be taken before or after eating as it is long acting and lasts one week. This pen does not typically cause hypoglycaemia (sugars too low that causes symptoms) although it does help with lowering sugars. If you sugars are really low (hypoglyaemia) you should be rectifying this regardless of medication but this should not generally occur unless your taking medication that can cause this (such as insulin) or have an underlying conditionthat predisposes to this. If your sugars are high there is no problem taking it.

Just wanted to ask a quick question I accidentally bought the 1MG version of the pen and my starting dose were supposed to be around 0.25, 0.5 MG so what I did was since I already use the needle and open the pen and I couldn’t return it, but I did was I simply counted the clicks and calculated it roughly based on that and I injected myself so I’m just curious did it work or not?

The way the pen is designed usually 90 degrees to the skin because the needle is so short. Because it is so short it would be difficult to reach the muscle layer when injecting.

Haha, needle is quite small and usually put in the abdominal area around the level of the belly button so the risk of muscle injury is very low

Hi Mike, each pen is supposed to be only used 4 times. I am not sure if you are eluding to the fact that the 0.25-0.5mg pen if you stay on 0.25mg could technically be used for 8 doses but its only supposed to be 4 injections per pen. Hope that helps!
