I ordered after market from amazon. Is yours oem? And also have you tried cutting a portion of the air hose? If so what did/do you use to cut it clean? Thanks again
@How2Helen8 ай бұрын
Min@@jeremykristian3521 We ordered aftermarket/replacement. We did not cut any portion of the air hose. Our air compressor leaks out air on the compressor component itself. So when you park the vehicle overnight, it loses air and sages the next day. after the Air compressor replacement, it does not lose air anymore.

Great job. Very helpful. I am trying to determine which components on my 2010 Armada air suspension I need to replace. Mine has a slow leak. It inflates normally when you start the car, but will slowly deflate after sitting for a while. Im thinking the air shocks need to be replaced but not sure how to test. Thoughts?
@How2Helen Жыл бұрын
Hello. After parking the truck and turning it off, listen if you hear any leak on the shocks. If not, I would advise changing the air compressor first. I have the exact issue you have, and replaced the shocks first. It was still loosing air, so I changed the air compressor and it solved it. The air compressor is actually cheaper than the two shocks. So I really would try that first. They have good prices on Amazon or Ebay. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and subscribing! -Rjeff H2H

I saw that if you spray the shock with soapy water you can sometimes see foam where it leaks, if it is leaking.
@How2Helen Жыл бұрын
@@tonychang7784 Great advice. I guess you can hear and see if there are leaks on the hose and air shocks. So if there is no leak on the air shocks and hoses, you can conclude it is from the air compressor not sealing when it has pumped air. Thanks - Rjeff H2H

Great video thank you. How would I know if my air suspension was working or not?
@How2Helen10 ай бұрын
Hello. First make sure you have air suspension. Some year models have regular suspension. Next, if you haven’t driven it for maybe a week or more, some air will have released and the back will sit a bit lower. When you start the vehicle, you should hear the air pump running, and see the gap from the tire to the rear well increase. Then after a minute or so, the air pump should stop once the vehicle is leveled. Hope that information helps. Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H

I replaced the compressor on my 2014 Infiniti QX 80. It is still not lifting the vehicle. I heard a loud bang almost like a grenade went off while I was at a stop. After this happened the compressor was not working. I do not have any warning lights on the dash. I wonder if the air bags on the shocks blew? Please advise if you can
@How2Helen Жыл бұрын
Hello. You might have a defective replacement compressor. Might just be bad luck to receive a bad air compressor. Try to contact the vendor you purchased it from. Also, just to be sure, check your air compressor fuse. Maybe it just blew. Keep me posted. Hoping for the best -Rjeff H2H
Hello. Sorry for the delay in response. Had to translate what you wrote. Anyway, try removing the cabin air filter. Maybe needs to be replaced, or something got in there that is preventing airflow from your blower. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H

I have a 2017 and one of my inline hoses has popped out, and my tear is sagging pretty bad. I tried to just push it back in but it doesn’t stay in. What can I do?
@How2Helen6 ай бұрын
Hello. If the air shock of the 2017 is the same as the 2008, then the tube where you slide in the hose should have a pull-grip mechanism. When you push it in, the tube should allow the hose to slide in. And when you pull it, the tube will tighten and lock the hose in place. With that said, check around that tube if there is dirt or debris that is stopping the tube mechanism to move and lock in place when it is pulled. Even try to spray some lubrication just to see if maybe it is just frozen in place. Let me know what you find. Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H

@@How2Helen thank you for the quick reply. It seems that not only the hose has slipped out of the connector, but also the connector has popped out of the actual compressor. I managed to get it back in and it’s in place but when the compressor kicks on at start up, the vehicle doesn’t seem to be lifting.
@How2Helen6 ай бұрын
I usually reply during the week, but I didn’t want you to wait too long. Anyway, take the hose out again. Turn the truck on. When the compressor kicks on, see if there is air coming out of the hose, or even any air movement in through the hose. If there is no air movement, then check the connection on the compressor end. If there is strong air coming out, then the air shocks might have a hole, causing it to not inflate. But if there is some air movement in the hose, but not really forcing air out, then your compressor might be shot. Hope that troubleshooting helps!

What was the reason you replace it?
@How2Helen Жыл бұрын
Hello. On our Armada, the rear goes down a few hours after turning it off. Initially, we thought it was the air shocks leaking so I replaced those. But it still was losing air. We later found out that the compressor has a valve that leaks air when it does not fully close. So after replacing the air compressor, the rear does not lose air anymore and stays on the correct height. Hope that information helps. Thank you for watching -Rjeff H2H

Can anyone help, how do I know if it’s my air compressor that needs replacing or my rear struts? When I drive down the highway at 60mph my armada starts shaking a bit, also when I hit speed bumps it’s no longer a smooth bump but shaky. I noticed a while back when I was parked for my lunch break I heard a hissing noise like someone slashed my back tires all while the rear was losing its suspension/height. I’ve been driving like this ever since and I’m looking to fix this problem myself, thank you any information helps
@barefootrocker Жыл бұрын
The hissing is the air exhaust solenoid letting the air out of the suspension and that’s why the vehicle will drop in height. Normal.
@How2Helen Жыл бұрын
Hello.I will try to help. First thing is you need to visually check your struts. when you hear the hissing noise, locate which side it is coming from. Then take out the wheel and visually check that air shock to see if it is coming from that shock. As seen on the video, the air compressor is located closer to the rear driver side shock. If you hear that it is coming from that area, check maybe it is your air compressor. But if cannot determine which one is leaking, and you want to resort to trial and error, I would suggest changing the air compressor. It is technically easier, and cheaper to do. But again, check your air shocks first for holes. I really don't want you to spend money to replace items that does not need replacement. Hope this information helps. Good luck! How do i know if my struts need to be changed?
@How2Helen2 жыл бұрын
Hello. What symptoms are you experiencing? First, check around the rubber part of the airbag strut if there are any punctures where it may be leaking. On our Armada, the airbags deflate 3 hours after turning off the truck. We had the struts replaced thinking it was leaking there. But it turns out, the compressor is actually the one leaking air. That is why we made this video to share our experience. Now no more leaks and the rear has retained the air in the system. I hope this information helps. Thank you for watching - Rjeff H2H

When you are driving down the highway and you hit some bumps the back of the truck will bounce alout and it feels like you are going to lose control
@MrJmuggy2010 ай бұрын
They will do that if the struts are bad? I have a 2011 and randomly on bumps on the highway the thing will rock around, feels like your on a boat. They said the air compressor is bad, and to replace and recalibrate it would be $1000? Just don’t want to replace something if that’s not going to fix the issue.
